The delegation of Uzbekistan arrived in Kazan

(KZN.RU, October 10). Rustam Minnikhanov, the President of the RT, met with the delegation of Uzbekistan, headed by Gulomzhon Ibragimov, the deputy prime minister of Uzbekistan. The meeting took place at the residence of the President of the RT in the Kazan Kremlin.

R. Minnikhanov welcomed the participants and expressed confidence that the visit of the Uzbekistan delegation to Kazan would contribute to the further development of cooperation between Tatarstan and Uzbekistan aimed at strengthening Russian-Uzbek relations. The President reminded his visit to Uzbekistan in September this year and thanked Gulomzhon Ibragimov for the hospitality and organized extensive business and cultural program.

Rustam Minnikhanov marked that the volume of mutual trade between Tatarstan and Uzbekistan still doesn’t reflect all available opportunities. “We see great prospects for cooperation. This is facilitated by our similar languages, culture, and customs. But most importantly, there is a will of the top leadership of both countries”. Vladimir Putin, the President of Russia, and Shavkat Mirziyeev, the President of Uzbekistan, defined the strengthening of interregional cooperation as a priority in the development of Russian-Uzbek relations, said Rustam Minnikhanov.

He said that Tatarstan has extensive experience in the development of the oil and petrochemical industry. The main enterprises in this industry are the “Tatneft” and the “TAIF”. Rustam Minnikhanov proposed to consider all possible options for cooperation in this area: from the supply of finished products to Uzbekistan and the implementation of joint projects to the cooperation in the training of industry specialists.

Uzbekistan has a developed branch of light industry. “I am confident that we will be able to establish contacts in this area. We should invite Uzbek business to the republic, offer them all the necessary conditions, and provide appropriate support”, said Rustam Minnikhanov to Taliya Minullina, the head of the Agency for Investment Development of the RT.

The President of the RT also noted the need to intensify tourism links, cooperation in the field of engineering, construction, housing and communal services, health, agriculture, information, culture, and a number of other areas. Rustam Minnikhanov suggested Gulomzhon Ibrahimov organize additional mutual visits of business representatives and to determine main business projects by the end of the month.

Gulomjon Ibragimov thanked the President of the RT for the reception and noted that the leadership of Uzbekistan is interested in increasing cooperation with the republic. “Tatarstan has extensive experience in a number of areas. We can learn a lot from you, and also solve problems jointly. Today we have serious intentions to cooperate with the “KAMAZ”, the “Tatneft”, and other large enterprises of the republic. The main thing is that we decided on the mechanisms for further work. I think we will be able to start certain projects this year”, added the deputy prime minister of Uzbekistan.

Ilsur Metshin, the Mayor of Kazan, Albert Karimov, the deputy prime minister of the RT and the minister of Industry and Trade of the RT, Roman Shaikhutdinov, the deputy prime minister of the RT and the minister of Information and Communication of the RT, Radik Gimatdinov, an assistant to the President of the RT, Irek Fayzullin, the minister of Construction, Architecture and Housing and communal services of the RT, Adel Vafin, the minister of Health of the RT, Taliya Minullina, the head of the Agency for Investment Development of the RT, Shamil Ageev, the chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the RT, heads of industrial enterprises of the Republic, and others took part in the meeting on the part of Tatarstan, reports the Tatarstan Government Portal.
