I. Metshin: “Every new birthday of the city should raise the comfort level of Kazan”

(KZN.RU, August 21, Anton Nozdrin). A number of events, dedicated to the celebration of the Day of the City and the Republic, is scheduled for August 30 in Kazan. Sports competitions, the opening of new facilities, concerts, and festivals await residents and guests of the capital of Tatarstan. “Every new birthday should raise the Kazan level in comfort, improvement and a sense of pride for a native city”, said Ilsur Metshin, Mayor of Kazan, on the Business Monday.

I. Metshin reminded that traditionally new social objects are delivered by the City Day. “The Center “Zarechie” got a second birth, 3 thousand children will be able to attend it”, said the Mayor and thanked Rustam Minnikhanov, the President of the RT, for the allocated funds. The Mayor of Kazan noted that a lot of different objects will open, including two new schools. “There is something to celebrate another birthday with”, commented I. Metshin on the delivering of new objects.

Azat Abzalov, the head of the Department of Culture, said that a number of festive events have already started in the districts and will continue until August 30. Various concerts, master classes, and trainings will be held in the residential areas of the city, in public spaces, and near the houses of culture.

A. Abzalov noted that an original prologue to the program of festive events will be the international festival of brass bands in the Kazan Kremlin. “Solemn processions, virtuosic defile, and grandiose performance of the composite orchestra, when the hymns of Russia and Tatarstan, works of Tatar composers will be performed by 18 orchestras participating in the festival, are waiting for all who came to the Kazan Kremlin from August 25 to 26”, said the head of the department. On August 29, Kazan citizens and guests of the capital of Tatarstan will see the song festival. According to A. Abzalov, the concert of Tatar pop stars will start from 5 pm on the site in front of the Family Center “Kazan”, and at 8 pm, the well-known Russian collective “Turetsky Choir” will perform for the residents.

This year a number of new social infrastructure facilities will open in the capital of Tatarstan. The holiday of the court will be held on Daurskaya street, №29 and Prospect Yamasheva, №74 on the City Day. A. Abzalov said that the yards were renovated in these territories. “Recreation areas with flower beds and benches, sports grounds with modern equipment, children's playgrounds with small architectural forms will appear here, the road surface and sidewalks are updated”, said the speaker. On August 30, a children's park on Syirtlanova Street will open after the reconstruction.

According to A. Abzalov, memorial plaques to state figures of Tatarstan Gumer Usmanov and Fikryat Tabeev will be installed on the facade of house №65 on Bolshaya Krasnaya Street on August 29. The monument to Hadi Taktash, a classic of Tatar poetry, will open on August 30. It will be located in the park at the intersection of streets M. Salimzhanov and Hadi Taktash.

A. Abzalov also said that many festive events, festivals, and concerts are planned in the city on August 30. The day will end with a salute. According to the speaker, it will start at 10 pm and will last for 5 minutes. It will be given from two barges in the water area of the Kazanka River. A. Abzalov recommended choosing the Kremlin embankment and the square near the Chashka for viewing.

Metshin noted that a large number of various events are planned for the holiday. “It is good that the palette of offers for residents and visitors to the city for the holiday is large, diverse, fits for every taste. I would like to see the maximum number of Kazan residents on the holiday”, said the Mayor of Kazan.
