(KZN.RU,
August 21, Zilya Gayfi). Ilsur Metshin, the Mayor of Kazan, met with Vu Huy
Mung, the Consul General of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam in Yekaterinburg,
today in the Executive Committee. The parties discussed the prospects for
cooperation in the sphere of tourism. Daria Sannikova, the director of the
Tourism Promotion Committee, took part in the meeting.
Ilsur
Metshin greeted the guest and noted that bonds between Tatarstan and Vietnam
have already been established and must be developed. The two republics have
common points of contact, in particular in the sphere of tourism. “Vietnam is
one of the most amazing, beautiful countries. This is a real pearl of
South-East Asia, which attracts a huge number of tourists. The development of
the tourism industry is appreciated all over the world. You took a very serious
step forward in this direction. Vietnam is one of the growing tourist markets
in the world. There is also a great experience in establishing foreign economic
relations, developing industry and modern technologies”, said the Mayor.
The head of
the city marked that Kazan, like Hanoi, the capital of Vietnam, is more than a
thousand years old. “You know that Kazan is one of the most beautiful and
developed cities in the Russian Federation. Large-scale and sports events of
various levels are regularly held in our city. The ancient part of our city is
listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Kazan is one of the most interesting cities
to visit. After Moscow and St. Petersburg, we are leading in inbound tourism. I
hope that our city is interesting for the people of Vietnam as well”, the Mayor
expressed hope.
Vu Huy Mung
thanked Ilsur Metshin for his kind words, noting that Kazan is a hospitable
city. “I am happy to visit your beautiful city. Kazan is one of the largest
economic and tourist centers in Russia. At the same time, your city has a rich
historical past, cultural diversity. The purpose of my visit is to get to know
the city, to help strengthen our cooperation. It's nice that Kazan becomes
comfortable for living and an attractive place to visit, a dynamically
developing city under your leadership”, said the Consul.
Ilsur
Metshin and Vu Huy Mung expressed interest in maintaining and developing
political, economic, and cultural contacts between Vietnam and Tatarstan. “I
hope that our meeting will contribute to strengthening the relations that have
developed between our countries and the republics”, said the Mayor at the end of
the meeting.
