(KZN.RU,
August 18, Anton Nozdrin). Ilsur Metshin, the Mayor of Kazan, visited the Tatar
Gymnasium №1 named after G. Tukay, where this summer overhaul is being carried
out. This year one of the oldest educational institutions of the capital of
Tatarstan, where nearly 600 children are enrolled, will celebrate its 100th
anniversary. It is planned to renovate the sports hall, the asphalt covering in
the courtyard of the gymnasium, and improve the adjacent territory in the
building on Gafuri Street. In addition, the issue of expanding the dining room
and the construction of a children's sports ground will be worked out by the
instructions of the head of the city.
Ilsur
Metshin began his visit with a tour of the Museum of Local History, which was
established in 1967 to mark the 50th anniversary of the school. According to
Gulfiya Shamseeva, the director of the institution, the museum reflects the
history of the Novo-Tatarskaya Sloboda.
The
director said that the overhaul of the building was carried out in 2012. In the
current year, it is planned to repair asphalt pavement in the courtyard of the
gymnasium, improve the territory, and repair the sports hall. I. Metshin noted
the good condition of the sports object. “The sports hall is kept in such
conditions for almost 60 years without overhauling. This indicates the concern,
with which the teachers' staff treats the gymnasium”, said the Mayor. He
ordered to carry out a small repair in the hall of the room: lay the tiles on
the floor and fresh up the walls.
I. Metshin
also examined the canteen of the institution, designed for 90 children. As G.
Shamseeva noted, the canteen's capacity is not enough since houses for
resettlement of citizens from emergency housing are put into operation in the
micro-district and the number of students is growing. Ilsur Metshin instructed
Andrey Lobov, the head of the Vakhitovsky and Privolzhsky districts’
administration, and Guzel Ananieva, the general director of the Department of
Food and Social Catering, to work out the issue of expanding the premises. In
particular, he suggested considering the possibility of equipping an annex to
the dining room.
The
children's sports ground, which is in need of repair, is located on the territory
of the institution. The head of the city instructed A. Lobov to work out the
question of building a new sports ground.
The
gymnasium is located in the building of 1960. However, the history of the
educational institution began in 1917, when the Tatar elementary school opened
in the Novo-Tatarskaya Sloboda. Only two teachers worked in it and about 50
pupils were enrolled. In 1960, the institution received a new building and
became the secondary school №35. The gymnasium its modern name in 1990.
The Mayor
noted that the school 100 anniversary is an important event for the education
system not only in Kazan but also in Tatarstan. “It's hard to believe that the
history of this school began a hundred years ago with 50 pupils and two
teachers. Over the years, a huge number of outstanding students came out of
these walls and glorified the school, the city, and the republic”, said I.
Metshin. The Mayor of Kazan thanked the staff of the gymnasium for a long time
work. “We respect your work. The caring hand of both the director and the
teachers is felt in all. Thank you for keeping and honoring traditions and
multiplying them”, said the Mayor. I. Metshin marked that everything must be
done to ensure that the anniversary of the gymnasium was held at a high level.
