The traditional August meeting of education and science workers of the RT is held in Tatarstan

(KZN.RU, August 15). The education is a priority sector in the development of the republic, which the “Strategy-2030” reflects. The world is changing precisely through education and therefore it would be wrong to underestimate its multiplicative effect. Rustam Minnikhanov, the President of Tatarstan, said this today at the plenary session of the August meeting of the education and science Workers of the RT “Ethno-cultural and educational potential of the RT education system”. This year the event is held in the Muslyumovsky Municipal Region.

Also, Farid Mukhametshin, the chairman of State Council of the RT, Rustam Nigmatullin, the first deputy prime minister of the RT, Engel Fattakhov, the vice-premier of the RT and the minister of Education and Science of the RT, Ilsur Metshin, the Mayor of Kazan, Ramil Mullin, the head of the Muslyumovsky Region, and others took part in the meeting.

“The August teachers' council is a well-established form of summarizing and analyzing the results of the past year and setting goals for the new school year”, said Rustam Minnikhanov during his speech.

The President of the RT summarized the main indicators of the Republic's economic development in 2016. So, Tatarstan continues to lead in the ratings of investment and innovation development of the subjects of the Russian Federation. The Republic takes the third place in Russia in terms of investments in fixed assets, the third place in terms of the volume of agricultural products produced, the fifth place in terms of the total volume of shipped products and services rendered, and in terms of the volume of construction work performed.

Rustam Minnikhanov marked that over the past year, a lot of work has been done to develop the education system. A large-scale program to create new places in the schools is being implemented. In particular, 6 schools are being delivered this year. The construction of kindergartens continues: 7 preschool institutions will open in 2017.

“Since 2012, 926 educational organizations have been repaired, including 753 schools. About 15 billion rubles are allocated for these purposes. We continue overhauling preschool educational organizations”, said the President. “Since 2015, 227 school buses for the transportation of children have been transferred to municipal regions. Since last year, we have launched a program for updating computers for teachers”.

Rustam Minnikhanov said that the consolidated budget of the education sector has increased by more than a quarter since 2013 and amounted to about 80 billion rubles. “When forming the education budget for the current year, the increase in the salaries of pedagogical workers in the system of additional education for children up to 95 percent of the average salary of teachers, and teachers and masters of vocational education of the secondary vocational education system to 95 percent of the average salary in the republic were taken into account”, said the President of the RT.

Rustam Minnikhanov also added that the decision has been made to increase the normative financing of kindergartens in 2018 by more than 1.5 billion rubles and schools by almost 800 million rubles. All this is designed to create conditions for ensuring accessibility and improving the quality of education.

In addition to the plenary session, participants of the traditional August meeting of education and science workers of the RT visited today a number of educational institutions after major repairs in Muslyumovo: the Center for extracurricular activities, the local branch of the Sarmanovsky Agrarian College, the Muslumovsky Lyceum, and other facilities.
