The new basketball and volleyball ground is being finished on the territory of Kazan gymnasium №4

(KZN.RU, August 16, Anton Nozdrin). The new basketball and volleyball ground will open on the territory of the gymnasium №4 with the Tatar language of tuition. A sports facility on Chkalov Street in the Kirovsky district of Kazan will welcome young sportsmen in the near future. The construction is almost complete. Ilsur Metshin, the Mayor of Kazan, inspected the ground's readiness. During the visit, the head of the city gave instructions for further work: to equip a standard size hockey box and a work-out ground near the children's institution.

This year, the construction of two basketball and volleyball grounds is conducted in the city, and in total, 15 sports grounds will be built. Sports grounds will appear on the territory of the stadium “Lokomotiv”, the sports school “Strela”, and the Fisherman's Garden in addition to the gymnasium №4 in the Kirovsky and Moskovsky districts.

Svetlana Vostrikova, the chairman of the Committee for Physical Culture and Sports, explained that each district independently determines where and what type of facility should be built. “The purpose of the sports ground is an outdoor sport. We are striving to create all conditions so that children do not go far and train closer to their home. All residents of nearby houses can come to the sports ground”, said the chairman. According to her, the conditions allow exercising professionally. Many children's and youth schools of the city conduct training at such grounds of schools.

Ilkhaniya Vakhitova, the director of the gymnasium, said that more than 450 schoolchildren are enrolled in an institution. Last year, an overhaul was carried out in the building. In addition to major works, the gym was renovated. This summer a sports ground appeared on the premises of the institution. Its construction took about 1.5 months.

Construction of the sports ground is conducted by the OOO “Bissan”. The same contractor is building 3 more grounds in the Kirovsky and Moskovsky districts and 3 in the Aviastroitelny and Novo-Savinovsky districts. Rafael Bairamov, the director of the organization, said that all the facilities are different, as they are designed for different sports: there are basketball and volleyball grounds and a work-out ground among them.

For today, the contractor has completed all the planned types of work in gymnasium №4. It remains to organize an entrance and improve the territory. After that, the playground will be completely ready.

Also, the hockey box is located on the territory of the gymnasium. However, its size is smaller than the standard, which is why it is impossible to hold competitions on the ice. The Mayor of Kazan, having examined the territory, noted that it is necessary to expand the hockey box in order to increase its area to the standard one. Also, according to the head of the city, there should be one more work-out ground. Ilsur Metshin drew attention to lighting. It is necessary to replace all lamps with energy-saving LEDs and to asphalt the remaining territory. The head of the city ordered S. Vostrikova and Marat Samigulin, the head of the Department for Capital Construction and Reconstruction, to work through this issue and carry out work by September.

The Mayor of Kazan noted that, in general, a lot of work has been done on the territory of the gymnasium №4. “We have overhauled the school and the gym. It remained only to make an outdoor sports ground. There are all conditions for children to go in for sports at their place of residence”, said I. Metshin.

Ilsur Hadiullin, the head of the Education Department, Nail Minvaleev, the acting head of the Kirovsky and Moskovsky districts’ administration, and others took part in the meeting.

Starting in 2013, 80 grounds appeared in Kazan under the republican program. 8 facilities were built in 2013, in 2014 – 12 grounds, in 2015 – 18 sports objects, in 2016 – 27 grounds.
