(KZN.RU,
August 14). Andrey Egorov, the director of the MUE “Vodokanal”, talked about
the work on blocking the structures of biological treatment facilities to
eliminate the technological smell today on the Business Monday in the Kazan
City Hall. In total, 25 buildings will be closed. Funds for solving the problem
are allocated from the republican and municipal budgets and by the enterprise
itself.
I. Metshin
noted that local residents suffered from this smell for 15-20 years but finally
the problem will be solved. “It's a quiet horror for those who live there. A
lot of complaint about smell comes from the residents of Otar, Mirny,
Borisovsko, 1 Gorok, Tankodroma during the meetings with the population and
voters and in the Internet reception. We set a task for ourselves to become the
most comfortable city in Russia. But it is impossible to fight for this title
with the smell that we have around sewage treatment plants and sediment fields
today”, the head of the city shared his opinion and recalled how he himself had
repeatedly faced this problem, living in the street of Latyshskih Strelkov at the
time.
At the same
time, the Mayor of Kazan noted the work of the MUE “Vodokanal”, which continues
to work qualitatively even in the current situation. “Even with the current
load of 350 thousand cubic meters of effluent, the water, released in the Volga,
is cleaner than we take it at the water intake. The technologies themselves are
of high quality, and we have always paid attention to them”, he said.
