(KZN.RU, June 16, Mikhail Chentsov). The first stage of road repair works on Kul Gali Street, leading to the Kazan village of Salmachi, will be completed by September 2017. Ilsur Metshin, the head of the Tatarstan’s capital, reported this yesterday on an on-site working session at the road section being repaired. According to the designers, the extension of the roadway on the section from Gabishev Street to Grigoriev Street, which is about 1.2 km long, will increase the road capacity by 50%.
The problem of overhauling the road to the residential area Salmachi was repeatedly raised by local residents who regularly sit in traffic jams for many hours in peak-hour. A solution that will partially unclog the traffic was found in March this year. Then I. Metshin announced that the central street leading to the village will be expanded and the networks under the roadbed will be rearranged in the summer.
Works on the site have already begun. In accordance with the federal priority project “Safe and qualitative roads”, the extension of the road to six lanes is carried out on Kul Gali Street from Gabishev Street to Batyev Street, and up to four lanes from Batyev Street to Grigoriev Street. The total area of the road (roadway and sidewalks) is 22 thousand square meters.
Marat Sattarov, the deputy director of the OAO “Alekseevskdorstroy”, said that about 15-20% of the whole work volume has already been completed within the framework of the first stage. “Domestic sewerage, power lines, and three gas pipelines are completely reorganized. Excavation work was carried out by 90%, the water pipeline was reorganized by 50%, the work on stormwaters was carried out by 10%”, he said. The stormwater system on Kul Gali Street will be laid for the first time. In addition, the complex of works provides for the dismantling of old pavement and laying a new one and the installation of sidewalks on both sides. The total cost of works is about 165 million rubles, which are allocated from the republican budget.
The second stage of repair works on Kul Gali Street involves the extension of the trackway from Grigoriev Street to Yarkaya Street to four lanes. However, contractors faced certain difficulties in this sector: gas pipelines run under the road, which are considered especially dangerous objects. According to Igor Kulyazhev, the deputy head of the Executive Committee and the chairman of the Committee for External Improvement, several solutions are proposed to protect gas pipelines.
Ilsur Metshin noted that this problem requires a serious technical solution that needs to be coordinated not just with Gazprom but also with a number of federal monitoring bodies. “It is clear that people do not see this problem but there are serious infrastructure tasks because these pipes have been laying there for decades. Nevertheless, the designers assure us that even repairing the first section in 1200 meters will increase the road’s capacity by 50%. The first stage of road repair works on Kul Gali Street will be completed by September. And the residents who apply to us will feel the improvement already in autumn”, said the Mayor and thanked the President of Tatarstan for allocating money for the first stage of the work.
In total, repair works are planned at 64 sites (32 streets and 32 places of traffic accidents’ concentration) under the program “Safe and qualitative roads” in Kazan. Works on 23 sites have already been completed. Following streets are among them: prospects Ibragimov and Amirkhan, streets Dekabristov, Vosstaniya, Levo-Bulachnaya, Pravo-Bulachnaya, Vishnevsky, Salimzhanov, Gorkovskoye Highway, K. Marks, Nazarbayev, Tukay, Kopylov, Tetsevskaya, Krasnogo Pozharnika, Sh. Kamal, Saydashev, Vorovsky, the junction of Chistopolskaya-Yamashev, and others.
The total amount of funds, allocated for road works in Kazan, is 3.7 billion rubles, including 2 billion rubles for the federal project “Safe and qualitative roads” and 500 million rubles for the repair of yard territories.
Ildar Shakirov, the deputy head and the first deputy head of the Vakhitovsky and Privolzhsky districts’ administration, Eduard Danilov, the director of the GKU “Glavtatdortrans”, Maksim Mironov, the director of the “Tatdorproject” Institute, and others also took part in the meeting.
