I.Metshin: “The Day of Russia will be celebrated all over Kazan”

(KZN.RU, June 10, Mikhail Chentsov). A number of solemn events will be held in Kazan on June 12, dedicated to the Day of Russia. The innovation of the celebration this year will be a live broadcast of the concert from Red Square and the performance of songs in the format of karaoke on the big screen, which will be held on the Kremlin embankment. Timur Rodriguez, a showman, singer, TV and radio presenter, and the ensemble "Samotsvety" will perform for the citizens there. Airat Faizov, the chairman of the Committee for Children and Youth Affairs, reported this today during the staff meeting in the Kazan Executive Committee.

According to A. Faizov, the central spot for the celebration will be a concert venue on the Kremlin embankment. There, the program starts at 2.30 pm with the semifinal of the festival “Energy of Rock”, the headliners of which will be the groups “Murakami”, “Big Kush”, VIA “Volga-Volga”, and others. Further, the charitable project “Dance of Good” will start at 6 pm with the participation of the best dancers and choreographic collectives of the city. Also, the results of the action “Someone's Life is not Anything”, which will be held during the day throughout the city, will be summed up.

One of the most official and solemn parts of the concert on the Kremlin embankment will be the delivery of the first ID of a citizen of the Russian Federation to young residents of Kazan and permits for the third semester for the labor groups of the RT. The beginning of the official part is scheduled for 7.30 pm.

The host of the main event of the day will be Timur Rodriguez, a Russian showman, singer, TV and radio presenter. In addition to local stars, the stars of the Russian stage will perform for Kazan, such as the ensemble “Samotsvety”.

The speaker also talked about other events that will be held in the capital of Tatarstan on June 12. Thus, at 9 am, the open festival “Dad, Mom, and I are a Fishing Family” will be held on the Kaban Lake. Such events as the Kazan championship in football at the stadiums “Trudovye Reservy”, “Raketa”, and “Tasma”, sports and entertainment program of the social-sports movement “Green Fitness”, and centralized testing of the GTO standards in the Gorky Park will be organized in the city for sports fans. The bicycle holiday will take place in the Gorkinsko-Ometyevsky forest.

In addition, Kazan citizens will be able to attend cultural events in other parks and squares of the city. The concert program, which includes contests and competitions, will be held in the park “Krylya Sovetov”. A solemn concert with the participation of the Peoples' Friendship Assembly of the RT will be held in the Gorky Park. The concert program “We are the strength of Russia” will take place in the recreation center “Polymer” with the participation of creative groups from houses of cultures. The concert “My Motherland is Great Russia!” with the participation of the vocal-instrumental ensemble “Orpheus” will take place in the square of the residential area Derbykski.

Another area for the celebration of the Day of Russia will be the Uritsky Park, where a large-scale regional event “We are together!”, a solemn concert, master classes, and a concert of brass bands “I Love You, Russia!” will be held.

According to Ilsur Metshin, the Mayor of Kazan, it is difficult to overestimate the significance of the Day of Russia. It is a holiday that, above all, educates people in patriotism and symbolizes the manifestation of friendship among nations. The Mayor also noted the importance of cultural and leisure activities being spread throughout Kazan. “Our residents and guests will be able to visit various events suited to every taste. It is important that they will be held throughout the city. The Day of Russia is a holiday for everyone”, said the head of the city and instructed all units of the Executive Committee to make every effort to ensure that the holiday was held at a decent level.
