Projects of construction and reconstruction within the boundaries of the historical settlement were considered in Kazan

(KZN.RU, April 5, Alsu Safina). The meeting of the Interdepartmental Commission on Urban Development took place in the Kazan Executive Committee. 13 objects were considered at the meeting of the Commission, chaired by Ilsur Metshin, the Mayor of Kazan, including two for the second time. As a result of the work of the Commission, all 13 objects will be submitted for consideration of the President of the RT, some with minor improvements, including color solutions and facades.

Svetlana Persova, the deputy minister of Culture of the RT, Rustam Nigmatullin, the first deputy head of the Defense Ministry of Kazan, Tatiana Prokofieva, the chief architect of Kazan, Olesya Baltusova, the assistant of the President of the RT, Nail’ Galeev, the head of the Urban Planning Department, Marat Usmanov, the prefect of the “Stary Gorod” Prefecture of the Kazan Executive Committee”, and leading architects of the city took part in the meeting of the Commission.

One of the objects considered today was a sports complex with a student hostel for the Kazan Innovation University named after Timiryasov (Street Moskovskaya, 42), near the Kolkhozny market. Tatiana Prokofieva said that several options were considered, including classical ones, but they did not fit the environment. The more modern version, presented today, was chosen by the members of the Urban Development Council.

Members of the Commission also approved the project proposal for an extension to the production building of the factory “Aromat” (Street Fatkullina, 7). The chief architect of Kazan drew attention to the fact that the object will not have any negative impact on the visual perception of the Azimovskaya Mosque, which is located on the same street, for they will be at a sufficient distance from each other.

Another project was the reconstruction of the administrative and commercial building on the Street Narimanov, 15. Tatiana Prokofieva explained that the owner did not coordinate the project and made on its own initiative major repairs and an annex to the building, which does not suit architects from an aesthetic point of view. “We insisted that they finish the facades and lead them to a common Kazan style”, T. Prokofieva said.

The Commission considered a number of facilities that are located in the production zone in the center of the city and fall within the boundaries of the historic settlement. For example, the administrative and household complex with a shop on the Street Tinchurin, 31, the warm warehouse for storing finished wooden structures on the Street Naberezhnaya 31a, and the substation of the OAO “Network Company” on Sh. Kamal Street.

Projects for the reconstruction of the shopping pavilion on the Street Gorky, 9 and the construction of a residential 5-7 floor complex with public premises and underground parking on Ostrovsky Street were reviewed at the Interdepartmental Commission for the second time.
