The International rally “Silk Road” will pass through Kazan

(KZN.RU, April 5). Today, Rustam Minnikhanov, the President of the RT, held the meeting on the preparation and holding of the stage of the international rally “Silk Road” in the territory of Tatarstan.

The meeting was held in the Government House of the RT. Shamil Gafarov, the head of the Office of the Cabinet of Ministers of the RT, Ilsur Metshin, the Mayor of Kazan, representatives of ministries and departments took part in it.

Vladimir Chagin, the head of the project “International rally “Silk Road”, said that the rally will start in Moscow on July 7 in 2017, the finish will take place on July 22 in the Chinese city of Xian. As in previous years, the route of the rally will be held in three countries: Russia, Kazakhstan, and China.

Participants of the meeting were shown a video about the rally “Silk Road-2016”. Last year the route of the rally passed through 15 cities in three countries, 125 cars from 40 countries took part in it, and the length of the unique route was 10 thousand km.

Vladimir Chagin reminded that the rally “Silk Road” will be held in 2017 for the seventh time. The rally's presentations were already held in December 2016 in Beijing, in March 2017 - in Paris, and the presentation will take place in Moscow on May 17.

The route of the rally in 2017 has been changed. This will allow participants to see new places, and new viewers will see the rally.

As for Tatarstan, the “Silk Road” will be held on its territory on July 9 this year. On this day, leaving Cheboksary early in the morning, rally participants plan to reach Kazan by 8.30 am, where they will pass through the streets of the city, including through the Millennium Square (where the arch will be installed), streets Levo-Bulachnaya, Kosmonavtov and others in the direction of the village Shali.

On July 9 in Shali, the start will be given to a special stage with a length of 157 km at 10.00 am. The special section passes through the following regions of the republic: Pestrechinsky, Laishevsky, Tyulyachinsky, Rybno-Slobodsky, and others (towards Ufa, Bashkortostan).

According to Vladimir Chagin, control passes on the special stage will be held in May-June with the involvement of the heads of municipal regions, along which the route passes, and other responsible persons. “Spectator zones” will be organized on specially designated places of the route, from where spectators can observe how the participants of the rally pass the track.

Answering the questions of Rustam Minnikhanov, Vladimir Chagin said that motorcycles will be allowed in the next “Silk Road-2018” for the first time in the history of the rally. The rally will become even more spectacular.

Shamil Gafarov, the head of the Office of the Cabinet of Ministers of the RT, was appointed responsible for organizing and holding the International Rally “Silk Road” in the Republic of Tatarstan.

Rustam Minnikhanov, the President of the RT, noted that the “Silk Road” rally stage is a landmark event for Tatarstan. According to him, it is important to ensure a good organization of the event, and most importantly to ensure the safety of rally’s participants and numerous spectators, reports the press service of the President of the RT.

“The rally “Silk Road” is a good opportunity to show our region to world-famous racing drivers”, said Rustam Minnikhanov. “This event should be held at a high level. It is especially necessary to take into account the interests of the audience”.
