I. Metshin: “The most important thing is to ensure the safety of children during school holidays”

(KZN.RU, March 20). Today, the spring holidays began for Kazan schoolchildren, which will last until March 28. Ilsur Metshin, the Mayor of Kazan, noted on Business Monday that the most important task in this period is always to ensure the safety of children. The Mayor urged the Education Department, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for Kazan and the heads of the districts to keep this issue under control.

I. Metshin drew attention to school group visits to events, including field visits. “Many children participate in various competitions, contests, and festivals. As a rule, the peak of such events falls on vacation time. Therefore, the issue of providing security is number one”, marked the Mayor.

Ilsur Hadiullin, the head of the Department of Education, said that parents' meetings and class hours for the prevention of violations were held in each school with the participation of traffic police and the inspection of juvenile affairs on the eve of vacations. Particular attention was paid to the safe behavior of schoolchildren in water. “We hope that the efforts made will allow avoiding emergency situations”, he said.

I. Hadiullin noted that the school camps began to function on the basis of 142 educational organizations, which will be visited by 5 thousand children during the holidays. The preschool camps will work from March 20 to March 27, the duration of the shift is 7 days, and the schedule of work is 6 days.

For the third year, a single city educational and cognitive shift “IQ League” is formed in Kazan. According to I. Hadiullin, the attention of teachers is accentuated in the classes with gifted children, the preparation of graduates to the final certification, the elimination of gaps in underachieving students.

The program of the spring holidays also includes events, timed to important occasions of the city: the Year of Ecology, the centenary of the formation of the TSSR, the Victory Day, and the project “Good Kazan”.

Profile shifts based on the camps “Flame”, “Novo-Yudino” and the Center for Children's Creativity named after A. Alish will be held for leaders and activists of the children's public organization “Children of Kazan” and for young journalists.

Institutions of additional education continue to work in regular mode, said the head of the Education Department. The events are held within the framework of the city multi-project “Bring up the young Kazan citizen”. More than 2 thousand children will take part in the preparation for the city festival, dedicated to the celebration of the Victory Day. The young ones begin practical training for passage in the solemn march-parade of the Kazan garrison, dedicated to the 72nd anniversary of the Great Victory. In addition, the military-patriotic game “Zarnitsa” will be held in all districts of the city.

I. Hadiullin also said that the result of the city festival “Big Break” will be a festive concert and a solemn ceremony of winners awarding, which will be held on the days of spring holiday.

Children together with teachers will visit museums, exhibitions and plays in the framework of partner projects “Cultural holidays”. More than a thousand Kazan students will go on organized tourist trips with their teachers to cities in Russia and abroad.
