Rustam Minnikhanov and Ilsur Metshin visited facilities of the university campus of the KFU

(KZN.RU, March 9). Rustam Minnikhanov, the President of the RT, visited the facilities of the university campus of the Kazan (Privolzhsky) Federal University today. The inspection of the academic buildings was held on the eve of the annual meeting of the Guardianship Council of the university.

R. Minnikhanov was accompanied by Asgat Safarov, the head of the Office of the President of the RT, Engel Fattakhov, the deputy Prime Minister of the RT and the minister of Education and Science of the RT, Adel Vafin, the minister of the Health of the RT, Irek Faizullin, the minister of Construction, Architecture and Housing of the RT, Ilsur Metshin, the Mayor of Kazan, Leila Fazleeva, the Assistant to the President of the RT, Ilshat Gafurov, the rector of the KFU.

First of all, R. Minnikhanov visited the former Kazan military hospital (street K. Marx, 76). Three buildings were transferred to the balance of the university six months ago and became part of the university's medical campus. According to Ilshat Gafurov, there will be audiences and laboratories of the Institute of Fundamental Medicine. Today, repair and restoration works are being carried out at the facility. The process is complicated by the fact that the complex is an object of cultural heritage (it was built in the first half of the XIX century). The first classes are planned to be held this fall.

Further, the President of the RT went to the surgical hospital of the medical-sanitary unit of the KFU (university clinic “Kazan”). The builders started repairing in October last year. The feature of the building reconstruction was that, despite the ongoing work, the reception of patients did not stop. For today, the workers have completely renewed the admission and diagnosis department, surgical wards, resuscitation and technical departments. Each operating room is equipped with the latest technology. The rector of the university noted that up to 100 people go to the clinic every day.

Then the head of Tatarstan visited the Institute of International Relations, History and Oriental Studies. There, Rustam Minnikhanov was told about the activity of the training center for foreign companies operating in Tatarstan (“Haier”, “LG”, etc.). Listeners learn not only the language but also the culture and traditions of a particular country. Today, three main areas are operating in the center: Chinese, Korean and Japanese. Also, the President got acquainted with the work of the Department of Archeology and History, where he inspected educational facilities, laboratories and talked with teachers.

After that, R. Minnikhanov visited the educational building №5 (Street Levo-Bulachnaya, 34). Ilshat Gafurov said that today this university campus is not occupied by any of the faculties and it needs serious reconstruction. The issue price is 150 million rubles. Speaking of the future fate of the building, the rector said that it is planned to organize here a center for retraining of the republic's pedagogical staff. The President approved the project and instructed to study possible sources of financing, reports the press service of the Government of the RT.

In conclusion, the head of the republic visited the Institute of Psychology and Education, where he was presented a center for pedagogical magistracy. There is the “ideal school” with classes of chemistry and physics organized for the preparation of future teachers. The most diverse equipment is presented in laboratories, which is used in educational institutions of Russia. Representatives of the Institute noted that the existing material and technical base of the center allows parallel organizing of courses for the upgrading of teachers.
