February 27, Mikhail Chentsov). Kazan will participate in the All-Russian
campaign “Marathon of Good Deeds”, which starts on March 1, reported Airat
Faizov, the chairman of the Committee on Children and Youth, today on the
traditional staff meeting in the Executive Committee. Any person, school or
city, ready to prove a matter of concern for the environment, may become a participant
of the campaign. Ilsur Metshin, the Mayor of Kazan, asked to bring information
about the campaign to the educational institutions of the city, but without
obligations, and then set the task to develop their own program of ecological
education of children.
This year's
marathon is dedicated to the Year of Ecology. To participate, you must register
on the site dobrodela.rf until March 1. Each registered participant will
receive a task by doing which he would send the photo report to the organizers.
Participants of the campaign will go through 5 stages and perform more than 30
tasks, starting with the collection of waste paper and batteries to organizing
large-scale environmental activities in their cities. The winner will receive
two tickets to travel to any destination in Russia.

noted that in addition to the sole winner, the organizers plan to identify the
10 kindest schools and 10 kindest cities of Russia. The final rating will be
formed based on the total amount of “good deeds”, performed by residents of
cities and school students at the event.
According
to A. Faizov, the marathon meets the best objectives, set within the framework
of the city project “Good Kazan”, which has been declared by the Mayor as one
of 12 city's development priorities. “We believe that Kazan can compete for the
title of the kindest city in Russia in the environmental aspect, too. In
addition to the benefits, which performing tasks will bring, the marathon
itself may be another incentive for the initiation adults and children to good
deeds”, said the chairman of the Committee on Children and Youth.

Metshin, the Mayor of Kazan asked to bring information about the campaign to
the educational institutions of the city and marked the priority of work in
this direction. “But without obligations. The President of Tatarstan, after the
summary report on the session of the Kazan City Duma, marked the importance of
this work and wished to continue it in the scale of the republic. We need to
use every occasion to ensure that this work was systematical. As for the
environmental education of children, I ask to reckon that we had our own
