(KZN.RU,
February 25). Kazan's experience in the field of charity and charitable
initiatives being implemented in the city is necessary to broadcast outside the
capital of the republic, said Rustam Minnikhanov, the President of Tatarstan,
today at the XIII session of the Kazan City Duma.
The first
results of the project “Good Kazan”, one of the priorities of the city
development, were discussed today at the reporting session. “The Good Kazan is
not just a city of patrons, but rather a way of thinking: the format of human
relationships, when help and care for others is a way of life for every
citizen”, said Ilsur Metshin, the Mayor of Kazan.
He reminded
that this year's “Diary of good deeds”, which was given to all Kazan
first-graders at the beginning of the school year, has become an important tool
in this work and found positive reviews of both the pupils and their parents
and grandparents.
In
addition, a joint project with the federal service Dobro Mail.Ru was launched
in September 2016, where a separate page for Kazan appeared:
dobro.mail.ru/kazan. “With the help of this service, over 1.9 million rubles have
been collected for funds of Kazan charitable projects”, said the Mayor.
I. Metshin
pointed out that Kazan is ahead of many Russian cities, showing real examples
of active volunteer work. Fairs of good, charitable marathons, actions and
projects are carried out in the city. Last year, students from Kazan directed
12.7 million rubles to charity due to such events.
Rustem
Khasanov, the director of the Fund “Day of Good Deeds”, who also spoke at the
session, noted the change in the attitude of city authorities to private
charitable initiatives. According to him, the charity itself has become one of
the important areas of urban policy, along with other sectors. According to R.
Khasanov, it is important to involve professionals who have already gained a
lot of experience to work more effectively in this direction. “Public-private
partnership in the field of philanthropy will give the most important results:
improvement of living standards and social protection of citizens”, he said.
Social
taxi, which transport invalids in wheelchairs around the city without fee,
charity warehouses and others are among the projects, implemented by the Fund.
