Ilsur Metshin: “The question №1 is safety on the streets and in the Christmas towns”

(KZN.RU, December 12, Alsu Safina) Ilsur Metshin, the Mayor of Kazan, ordered to provide security in the city on the eve of New Year and during holidays today at the Business Monday.

“A lot of events are planned in the New Year days and after the New Year. A great responsibility, a large number of guests will be on the streets, at the celebrations on Christmas trees. The question №1 is safety on the streets and in the Christmas towns”, said the Mayor. “We spend the New Year celebration not for the first time. We hope to cope with this task together with the personal composition of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Office of Internal Affairs, the Emergency Situations Ministry units, regional administrations”, added the Mayor.

Azat Abzalov, the head of the Department of Culture, said that more than 100 Christmas trees and complexes will be established in Kazan this year. Festive opening and festivities will take place on 39 sites of them. The central Christmas tree of Kazan will open at the Millennium Square on December 30.

As for districts, the main Christmas tree in the Aviastroitelny and the Novo-Savinovsky districts will open in the renovated park “Krylya Sovetov” on December 23 and in the park “Continent” on December 26. From 3 to 8 January, event with participation of creative collectives of the district will be held there.

Central Christmas towns in Privolzhsky and Vakhitovsky districts scheduled to open in the park “Chernoe Ozero” on December 23, in the children's park on the street Syrtlanova and in the square of the Tatar Philharmonic on December 21.

The bright theatrical interactive program will be presented in the parks of the Kirovsky and Moskovsky districts: the Uritsky, the Petrov, “Sosnovaya Roscha” and “Admiraleisky Sad”.

In Sovetsky district, the National Village “Khan's court” will work in the territory of the equestrian complex “Kazan”. In the residential area of “Tsaritsino” New Year's program for children will be organized on December 23 at the request of the territorial public self-government for the first time this year. One of the central areas of the Sovetsky district will be opened in a residential area “Derbyshki” on December 23.

On December 24, the natural park of new type – the Gorkinsko-Ometevsky forest – will open. “Kazan citizens and guests can rent skis and try new lighted ski trails, take pictures on a beautiful winter lit alleys. Unique ecological park system allows enjoying a real winter forest in the city. The food court with hot drinks and street food will operate on the territory of the fountain with colored lights”, said Azat Abzalov.

New Year's performances for children in cultural institutions will begin on December 15 and will last until the end of the holidays. The head of the Department of Culture also said that “Bibliobus” will travel around the city during the New Year's holidays: it will work in the parks and in residential areas, not covered by the library service. Azat Abzalov also reminded that the tradition of New Year's presentations in the Kazan City Hall reborn this year, and residents can compete for the title of the best public Ded Moroz.

The head of the Department of Culture pointed out that the special fire-fighting mode introduced from December 15 to January 10 in the territory of the Republic of Tatarstan. “We are working with the city police department in the organization of Christmas events. More police officers will be involved to ensure public order near each tree, depending on the mass of events during the Christmas holidays. Law enforcement will be strengthened on the openings of Christmas towns and the New Year's Eve”, said Azat Avzalov.

“The New Year time always creates a mood for city residents and visitors. In the remaining days, it is necessary to work hard, including work over the festive decoration of the city”, urged Ilsur Metshin.
