November 28, Mikhail Chentsov). Holding of 81 sports events is scheduled in
Kazan in winter, including the competitions of young hockey players “Golden
Puck”, the Kazan traditional ski marathon, the triathlon competitions in the
winter and all-Russian mass race “Ski Track of Russia”. Svetlana Vostrikova,
the chairman of the Committee of Physical Culture and Sports, spoke about this
at a staff meeting in the Kazan Executive Committee.
According
to S. Vostrikova, the winter, rich with sports activities, awaits Kazan
citizens this year. Thus, the urban stage of the All-Russia competition of
young hockey players for prizes of the club “Golden Puck”, which will be attended
by athletes in three age categories from 10 to 15 years, will be held in the
capital of the RT from January to February.
In
addition, several large-scale events for ski enthusiasts will be held in
February. The traditional Kazan ski marathon will be held on February 4 at
Kazan, it gained an international status for the first time over 50-year
history by entering into a series of the largest ski marathon of Russia.
On February
11, the capital of Tatarstan will take all-Russian mass race “Ski Track of
Russia”. As noted by S. Vostrikova, about 20 thousand of Kazan citizens
participate annually in this event. “This year, such sports events are to be
held in each district of Kazan for the convenience of residents. The central
start of the “Ski Track of Russia” will be the stadium “Locomotive”, she said.
“Currently,
the modernization of the stadium is underway. It will become a center for
sports life of settlements Yudino, “Salavat Cupere” and other nearby
residential areas”, said the chairman of the Committee of Physical Culture and
Sports.

Vostrikova also reminded that it was decided to maintain and equip ski line on
the street Bratiev Kasimovyh, stretching for 5 km in the Gorkinsko-Ometevsky
forest. Work on its development, as well as work on the construction of a ski
resort in the park, is planned to be completed by the end of December.
Ilsur
Metshin, the Mayor of Kazan, said that the sports infrastructure of the city is
growing every year. “Of course, we are waiting for the opening of the
Gorkinsko-Ometevsky forest with a special feeling. Ski track in such a densely
populated area and good transport infrastructure will allow all residents of
Kazan to come and enjoy skiing in this beautiful park”, the Mayor shared his
opinion.
According
to I. Metshin, most importantly that more and more Kazan residents prefer
active leisure. “It was noted even in the FIFA that Kazan is one of the most
sporting cities, the number of people who play sports and lead a healthy
lifestyle is one of the highest in Russia. It's worth it”, concluded the Mayor
of the Tatarstan’s capital.
