I. Metshin: “It's good that the students not only acquire knowledge, but also live a creative life”

Airat Faizov, the chairman of the Committee on Children and Youth Affairs, spoke about the city qualifying stage of the interuniversity festival “Freshman Day-2016”, which will take place this week, at today's Business Monday. About 2 thousand of Kazan students passed the preliminary selection in their universities.

As A. Faizov noted, 37.5 thousand people became the first-years of educational institutions of Kazan in this year's, 28.5 thousand of which became students of higher educational institutions and 9 thousand came to the first year of vocational education institutions.

“As a rule, the best creative teams, which occupy the top places at the festival, then become active participants in major metropolitan and national events”, marked the speaker.

Ilsur Metshin noted that he remembers his feelings on the eve of the Freshman Day. “It seemed that the road to a new life opened. Anyway, I remember how we prepared this holiday after classes. Multiply that feeling at 28 thousand freshmen and what a powerful explosion of good, positive energy can and should be received this week, so you should be sure to visit the festival. It's good that the students not only get professional knowledge, but also live a creative, interesting life on the first course”, concluded the Mayor of Kazan.

The city stage of the Kazan open interuniversity festival “Freshman Day-2016” will be held in Kazan from 16 to 18 November on the stage of the concert hall of the Volga Region State Academy of Physical Culture, Sports and Tourism.
