November 7, Alsu Safina). 1,400 tons of snow was removed from Kazan roads from
3 to 7 of November. Igor Kulyazhev, the deputy head of the Executive Committee
and the chairman of the Committee of improvements, reported this at the Business
Monday. “We are entering a long period. I hope winter will present nothing new,
therefore blizzard, snowstorm and ice are expected. Heads of districts, the
Committee of improvements, municipal companies - everyone need to be in
constant readiness”, said Ilsur Metshin, the Mayor of Kazan.
“We need to
meet bad weather like the first time. From the first bad weather we should be
fully prepared, so please tune yourself to the work”, urged the Mayor.
Igor
Kulyazhev cited data from the Hydrometeorological Center of the RT, according
to which from 3 to 7 of November 13 mm of precipitation had dropped, which is
30 per cent of the monthly norm. Road services during deteriorating weather
conditions were treated roads and sidewalks with anti-ice materials: 3.3
thousand tons of it was spent. The chairman of the Committee of improvements
reported that all snow-melting points are open and take snow. The average use
of technology amounted to 262 units.
According
to Igor Kulyazhev, unfavorable weather will continue in the coming days. “Heavy
snowfall, the temperature drop is predicted, as well as zero-crossing”, said
the chairman of the Committee of improvements. “Appropriate instructions were
given to customers and road works organizations. All attention will be focused
on road maintenance operations for preventing the formation of ice on the
roads, especially on pedestrian sidewalks and bus stops. If necessary, the
entire fleet of road equipment will be used for road cleaning and additional
forces will be involved”.
708 tons of
snow was removed from the streets for the past day. In total, 221 road worker
and 318 units of special equipment were deployed on the streets. Today, 350
road workers and 215 units of special equipment will take to the streets of
Kazan for snow removal.
