I. Metshin: “The first step that we have done together is impressive and reassuring”

More than 3.5 million rubles was able to collect on the citywide “Fair of Good”, which was held on September 10 in the renewed parks and gardens of Kazan and was the culmination of the Good Weeks. Funds will be directed to charities of the city, as well as to teachers and children who are in difficult life situation. “We believed our residents have the need to do good deeds. The event, which we conducted, confirmed our thoughts”, said Ilsur Metshin during the debriefing of the Good Week end today at the staff meeting.

Ilsur Metshin visited all sites, which hosted the “Fair of Good”. “It is impossible to help everyone in one fair. It is important that we have plunged into this atmosphere, to see how each action is increasing the number of people involved in it”, he said and thanked the active residents, business and schools representatives, heads of administrations - all those who took part in the charity event.

According to Damir Fattakhov, the first deputy head of the Executive Committee, 25 charitable funds and 164 schools have become members of the fair, and its visitors are more than 30 thousand people. Volunteers spent more than 50 shares as part of the Good Week, providing selfless assistance and care to the needy.

The Good Week was launched in the framework of the project “Good Kazan” on September 5 in Kazan. Lessons of good were held in all Kazan schools during a week. “Children amaze with their spontaneity, sincerity”, said Ilsur Metshin about the participation of school children in the charity project.

In addition, all Kazan first-graders received “Diaries of good deeds” on September 1. The Mayor drew attention to the fact that the children were happy to tell for what they received another sticker in the diary of good deeds on the lessons of good. There were responses from the parents. Parents of students in grades 2-3 are often interested, where they can buy such a diary. “We are far from achieving the result - we are at the beginning. But the first step that we have done together is impressive and reassuring”, said I. Metshin. He expressed gratitude to all those who carried out the lessons of good: athletes, artists, media representatives.

Signing the agreement with Mail.Ru Group has become an important event of the “Good Week”, as well as the launch of a joint project: a centralized electronic service that allows assisting proven charities and projects, not doubting that the aid reaches the recipient. “Five charities have been verified on site Dobro.Mail.ru Kazan, and this work will continue”, said D. Fattakhov. “About 1500 Kazan residents have already registered and used the service Dobro.Mail.ru. Another 20 thousand people have confirmed their intention to help those in need through the site”.

Ilsur Metshin assured that the implementation of charitable projects will be continued. “Project “Good Kazan” does not end with the “Good Week”. We are waiting for new ideas. There are many intentions, desire, and most importantly not only ours, but also of a huge number of people”, said Ilsur Metshin. The forum of good is scheduled in the end of the year, with the help of which it is supposed to bring the expert community of professionals in different fields to the development of charitable projects, who will share the best charities practices of the country.
