Residents can keep Kazan clean
(KZN.RU, June 17, by Olga Gertsev). A public online project "The Green Reporter” has been launched in Kazan.
“The Green Reporter " is a City Hall project available at KZN.RU. It empowers concerned residents of Kazan who are willing and ready to help the city become cleaner, more attractive and more comfortable for living. This can be achieved only by joint effort, organizers say.
"Throughout the world, citizen tip-offs about various violations are welcome. We are ready to learn from this experience,” says the Mayor of Kazan I. Metshin. The project will stimulate public opinion with a zero tolerance for violations of environmental regulations.
Participants in the project - the townspeople - will be able to upload photos and videos related to three major problems: Pollution, trash management and litter on the green-reporter.ru website.
All information placed on the website will help the City Improvement Board of the Kazan Executive Committee make decisions on clean-up and garbage disposal.
The best contributors will be presented with high-end cameras. The winner will be selected by vote, as well as by comments about the photos and videos.
