(KZN.RU, August 26). Ilsur Metshin, the Mayor of Kazan, visited the secondary school №120 of the Moskovskiy district on the eve. The Mayor inspected the school building, where overhaul was completed, talked with teachers and high school students, who already started to prepare for the "Week of Goodness" in vacation. It will be held in Kazan in September.
The school is located in a building, which was built in 1954. The director Olga Hasanova told the Mayor that the school had an enrollment of several generations of local citizens: parents and grandparents of current students graduated from high school at the time. School will take in the first-graders for the 62th time in the new academic year. 56 children will sit at their desks for the first time.
Now the number of students is about 400 people. The training is conducted on physical and mathematical structure in 10-11 grades, and the school itself is the base for the Kazan State Power Engineering University. One of school graduates scored 100 points in the unified state exam on the Russian language this year.
According to the director, the facade of the building was renovated, roofing work performed, doors, windows and heating system were replaced and bathrooms renovated. Ilsur Metshin was shown the offices of primary school. Lessons take place in 17 classrooms, a library with a book fund of more than 17 thousand copies, dining room for 72 persons, a sports hall of 200 square meters, and a computer office on 13 workplaces function in school.
The Mayor visited the school premises. High school students were preparing for the "Week of Goodness" in one of the classrooms. It will be held in Kazan from 5 to 10 September and will be completed with the citywide fair of good in the reconstructed parks and squares throughout the city.
Students prepared posters: a kind of report on charitable activities, in which they participated. For example, they help fund named after Angela Vavilova. Charity events are regularly held at the school: the proceeds from the sale of handicrafts, made by the students themselves, come to the aid of those in need. Children also told that one of the school eleventh-grades waiting for kidney transplants. He has listed 29 thousand rubles, which was able to collect thanks to the participation in the fair city of good in May. Activists plan to continue raising funds for his friend.
