(KZN.RU, August 12, Mikhail Chentsov). Ilsur Metshin, the
Mayor of Kazan, visited the Vasily Aksenov square, where the X Anniversary Literary
and Music Festival “Aksenov-fest” will be held in September. Head of the city was
told about the success of the project “Bibliobus”, and also shown the layout of
the sculpture, which will be installed in the square named after Vasily Aksenov,
the famous Russian writer and a native of the city.
According to Rezeda Ismagilova, the director of
Centralized Library System of Kazan, the mobile library complex is in high
demand among the citizens. The project has a very important social dimension,
because “Bibliobus” travels to villages where there are no libraries. On the
question of the mayor about the justification of such a format (library on
wheels), Reseda Ismagilova said that the project is very popular, and young
people become more aware of contemporary prose. “Once the format is justified, we
will expand it”, concluded the Mayor.
Also I. Metshin visited the courtyard of the Tatar
literary publishing house and the exhibition “Sushka”, dedicated to the history
of Russian cinema, in the square. The Mayor bought a few books: poetry of G.
Tukai in Russian and Tatar languages and one of Shaukat Galiev works, well known
Tatar children's author.
Next Ilsur Metshin inspected the layout of the
sculpture, dedicated to Vasily Aksenov, which will be located in the square to
the start of the X Literary and Music Festival “Aksenov-fest”. Art object will
be cast in bronze. The Mayor praised the project design, developed by the
architect Irina Aksenova.
Damir Fattakhov, the first deputy head of the
Executive Committee, Igor Kulyazhev, the deputy head of the Executive Committee
and the chairman of the Committee of Improvements, Andrei Lobov, the head of
the Vakhitovsky and Privolzhskiy districts administration, Tatiana Prokofieva, the
chief architect, Azat Abzalov, the acting head of Culture Office, and others escorted
the Mayor during the site inspection.
The Aksenov Square is located at the intersection of
Lesgaft and Dostoevsky streets, behind the building of the cinema “Mir”.
Landscaping of the square is dedicated to the memory of Vasily Pavlovich
Aksyonov, famous Russian writer. The
opening of the renewed park last year was the final note of the festival “Aksenov-Fest-2015”.
Central alley named after Aksenov is the main compositional axis of the square.
Art festivals are the main scenario of the functioning of the green zone,
including “Aksyonov Fest”, film screenings, musical evenings, readings, and weekend
exhibitions. X Anniversary Literary and Music Festival “Aksenov-fest” will be
held in Kazan from 2 to 5 September.
