The citywide fair of good will be held on September 10 in Kazan

(KZN.RU, August 11, Alsu Safina). “Good Week” will be held from 5 to 10 September in Kazan. She will be completed by the citywide fair of good in the reconstructed parks and squares throughout the city. International Day of Charity will be celebrated that hugely for the first time in Kazan. Representatives of charitable organizations discussed the organization of the “Good Week” in Kazan City Hall today at a meeting with Ilsur Metshin, the Mayor of Kazan. During the event it was announced that soon a convenient electronic platform for good deeds will appear in the capital of Tatarstan.

Damir Fattakhov, the first deputy head of the Kazan Executive Committee, recalled that the International Day of Charity is celebrated on September 5. The idea to not limit it in one day of celebrating this occasion and spend a whole week of good sounded at a meeting with representatives of non-profit organizations at the end of July.

“The week will begin on September 5. There will be open classes in schools and conferences on this topic in universities and colleges on this day”, said Damir Fattakhov. Also charities offered to attract business community to this marathon. Companies that provide services to the population (cafes, restaurants, shops, hairdressing salons) can offer charities proposals for special price tags, for example, to offer visitors a special so-called “good” cup of coffee or dessert in the week, proceeds from the sale of which will be listed on the charitable projects.

Completion of the marathon of good is scheduled for Saturday, 10 September, with large citywide good fair in parks and gardens throughout the city. “Every charity organization will be able to tell about themselves and their projects and to provide assistance to specific recipients, or just think about which fund they would like to help as volunteers”, emphasized Damir Fattakhov, adding that the program of the fair includes charity bazaars, performances of creative groups, various workshops and interactive platforms.

The idea to celebrate the International Day of charity sounded for the first time sounded on the Mayor’s first meeting with the heads of charitable organizations in the spring this year.

Ilsur Metshin approved the proposal for a “Good Week” and said that this initiative is sure to be supported.

“It is important that it was not an order, especially for schools, because children feel false better than others”, said the Mayor, referring to the organization of the event. He said about universities that “it is not enough – just to give lectures on the topic of good for students of Kazan”. He offered to discuss with rectors how to attract students to the charity project. “Let them offer their form, they are active and creative! Students do not need the patterns”, he said.

Alfia Valiyeva, the director of the charity fund “Ak Bars Sozidanie”, said that their fund launches educational project on September 5 - competition of children's initiatives among the orphans of the Privolzhskiy Federal District.

In addition, she gave the following data: Myanmar, where 91% of the population is actively involved in charity, took 1st place in the world rating of charity in 2015. Russia is only on the 129th place out of 145 countries. “This number is due to the fact that less than 20% of our population is involved in charity. People prefer to provide assistance directly to families because of mistrust to funds”, emphasized Alfia Valieva.

Current Russia's position in the ranking has caused hot reactions to Mayor: “129th position! This is terrible. Where are we? How can it be? We have to start changing this situation at least in Kazan”.

Damir Fattakhov drew attention to the fact that the idea of ​​the need for a unified electronic platform, on which the funds would be laying out information about their projects and wards and where people could contact them, sounded in April. The service “Dobro.mail.ru” was chosen as the most user-friendly, open and simple one. According to the first deputy head of the Executive Committee, the signing of a partnership agreement with “Dobro.mail.ru” is planned on the end of August.

“We have devoted a lot of time to the study of this service. They have made considerable progress in this regard”, said the Mayor of Kazan. “There were a lot of issues related to the reliability and relevance of the database. People are willing to help, it is important that they would not meet with swindlers, and assistance will be targeted”.

Many ideas and proposals were made at the meeting. Alfia Valieva, in particular, offered to make a “Good Week” the traditional mass urban event, aimed at raising charity culture. She pointed to the need to develop the attributes of charity movement in Kazan. The Mayor agreed that they need a corporate identity and a kind of “quality mark” for companies and organizations, involved in charity.

Darina Tabakova, the director of the charity fund “V tvou polzu”, drew attention of participants to the need of information support of “Good Week” and charity movement in general. The Mayor promised to appeal to the editors of municipal and national media with a request for support of the project.

Artem Kuznetsov, the chairman of the RPO “Large families RT” declared readiness of large families to provide their creative forces for organizing events of “Good Week”, and Valentina Parubina, the head of the Resource Center NGO “City center of education”, declared readiness to provide public social announcements to support of events.

“Today, we see how our city is growing fast, it occupies a leading position for the different ratings, and we show a positive trend in all sectors and areas of life. But it is very important for me as the Mayor that in addition to economic indicators and ratings, Kazan was the kindest city, and charity, philanthropy, the desire to help indigents were the need of every person”, marked the Mayor stressed.

Concluding the meeting, Ilsur Metshin noted that the collection of proposals for the “Good Week” continues, and they will be carefully considered.

The heads of districts and heads of structural units of the Executive Committee participated in the meeting.
