I. Metshin: "The desire to plant flowers should be a natural need of Kazan residents"
(Kazan City KZN.RU, June 14). The project "Blooming Kazan", which started two years ago, continues in Kazan. Thanks to organizations that joined the project in previous years, there were interesting and original floral arrangements in the city. The Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin called the residents to be active and seek new forms of decoration of the city today at the stuff meeting in the Executive Committee.
Recall that in the framework of the "Blooming Kazan" project the third competition for the best flower decoration of the facade or territory was launched. In the past year the competition brought together 14 exhibitors and this year about 20 applications from organizations are already received.
"Objects decorated with flowers are not only commercially attractive, but also create the mood. It needs to be created. We want to project "Blooming Kazan" attracted the attention of not only the city and regional authorities, but also of each of our company, each resident. The desire to plant flowers, live in a beautiful city should become the need of citizens, it should be the same standard as to take a shower in the morning,"- I. Metshin said.
The Mayor thanked the head of the Committee of improvements for the initiative to hold a flower festival. According to Igor Kulyazhev, it was visited by more than 200 thousand people last year.
"Two hundred thousand people - it's the whole city. Such a number of citizens, who attended the festival, says that we are moving in the right direction. It is important that each such event give the opportunity to find forms of work, landscaping and landscape design elements, even new varieties of flowers. We see the results of this work and we must continue it", - Metshin said.
Also, the Mayor added that the competitions are very important for effective work in this direction. "Moment of competition, bringing out the best thanks to people - this is very important, as this is a result of their efforts, small droplets forming a sea of flowers", - he concluded, calling on citizens to take part in the competition and voting.
