An agreement on cooperation in tourism was reached between Kazan and Ufa
(Kazan City KZN.RU, 1 April). The delegation headed by the Deputy Head of the municipal formation of Kazan Eugenia Lodvigova has visited Ufa in the framework of the presentation tour of the cities of the Volga region. The presentation of tourist potential of Tatarstan capital in the largest cities of the Volga region passes on behalf of the Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin in the development of one of the 12 urban priorities.
During the visit an agreement on signing a cooperation agreement in the field of tourism was reached. The main point of the agreement will be the establishment of tourist flows between Kazan and Ufa. Agreements on cooperation have been reached with other cities in the tour. Total from 21 March to 12 April Kazan delegation will visit eight major cities - Ulyanovsk, Samara, Nizhny Novgorod, Volgograd, Perm, Ufa, Yekaterinburg and Novosibirsk.
As the Mayor of Kazan pointed out repeatedly, tourism is one of the most important points of growth for the city. In order to develop this direction tourism development program for 2016-2018 years was approved in Kazan.
It is worth mentioning that the capital of Tatarstan fell into the various international and Russian ratings repeatedly. So, Kazan entered the top 50 cities in the world with the best hotels, taking 42nd place in the list, and according to Travel.ru service, capital of Tatarstan became the fourth among the most popular destinations in the New Year holiday, and went into the top three right after St. Petersburg and Moscow according Hotel reservation for the whole 2016. In addition Kazan is the only Russian city, which fell into the hundred of the most rapidly developing areas in the field of tourism. In this ranking Kazan took 8th place in Europe and 32nd in the world. In the past year, the city was visited by 2 million 100 thousand tourists, which is 20% more than in 2014 year.
