Mayor of Kazan: "We will meet flood fully prepared"
(Kazan City KZN.RU, March 2, Ekaterina Andreeva). The capital of Tatarstan is ready for the flood prevention and emergency situations in a difficult spring. This was announced today in the "Theme" on TV "Efir" by the Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin.
Abnormally warm weather in late February caused the activation of the work in preparation for the spring floods in Kazan. The zone of possible flooding in the city can be up to 13 square km, on which there are 386 houses with a population of 1223 people.
Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin assured the citizens that all urban services and enterprises have made great efforts to prepare for flood period. "In general, the city is historically in the inundation zone. If we talk about our history, Bulak during floods overflowed to the second floors. Thank God, it was all those years ago. Today we carry out all the activities in good time, know our "narrow" places as bridges, points where we need to pay particular attention", - the Mayor of Kazan said.
"Today MOE, with whom we are actively cooperating, and district administrations are in full readiness. We hope that we will meet high water fully armed and will not allow any emergency situations", - the head of the city stressed.
