About 2 thousand young Kazan players took part in the city tournament "Golden Puck"

(Kazan City KZN.RU, February 1). The final of the city stage of All-Russian competition of young hockey players on the club prize “Golden Puck” is completed in Kazan. The chairman of the Committee of Physical Culture and Sports Svetlana Vostrikova reported about this at today's Business Monday to the Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin.

Finals in all three age groups were held from 25 to 30 January. "1920 young hockey players from 96 amateur teams competed in the best municipal arenas of the city", - said S.Vostrikova. At the end of the tournament places were distributed as follows: in the younger age group (2001-2002) the team of "Spring ten" of Privolzhsky district of the city had the first place, in the middle (2003-2004) - "Bereket" of Kirovsky district the city, in the elder (2005-2006) - "Zilant ten" of Privolzhsky district of Kazan. The winners will participate in the republican stage, which will be held in Mamadysh, Chistopol and Zainsk.

"When you come to the competition, then you see what kind and good passions boil at venues, guys in the stands supporting classmates. And we will support the tournament,"- Ilsur Metshin shared his impressions of the competition. As the Mayor stressed, neighborhood teams give possibility to prove talent, temper the character, foster team spirit. "Being children we enjoyed playing in the "Golden Puck", "Leather ball". Unfortunately, during the adjustment period much has been lost. Fortunately, we have restored these tournaments in Kazan and if Russia makes only the first steps now, we have these events as the traditional already"- I. Metshin summed.

Recall that the opening of the final phase of the city tournament "Golden Puck" was held on January 26 at the ice arena "Golden Puck". Mayor Ilsur Metshin, president of the city Ice Hockey Federation Andrei Ryabov, a hockey player of "Ak Bars" Albert Yarullin, Kazan hockey veterans and heads of district administrations of the city congratulated young hockey players with beginning of the competition. Also the head of the city took part in the friendly match with the participation of young athletes - the players of the tournament. Together with the guys the head of administration of the Kirovsky and Moskovsky districts Damir Fattakhov, head of the administration of the Sovietsky district Rustem Gafarov, the master of sports of the USSR, veterans of Kazan hockey club "Ak Bars" Rafik Yakubov, Andrei Pisarev and Ravil Fazleyevon went on ice.
