KZN.RU, January 21, Zilya Gaifi). The memory of the well-known philanthropist,
honorary citizen of the city Asgat Galimzyanov will be perpetuated in Kazan.
This decision was made today at the Kazan City Duma by deputies at the IV
session, which was held in the City Hall.
Kazan residents
addressed with the initiative of commemorating of Asgat Galimzyanov, who died
January 3, 2016, to the online reception of the Mayor. Ilsur Metshin supported
the initiative of citizens and requested to consider options for commemorating of
Asgat Galimzyanov.
As Ilsur
Metshin noted, Kazan and Tatarstan have an irreplaceable loss. "Asgat
Galimzyanov still alive got a well-deserved love and recognition of citizens.
His biography is known since the Soviet era. Asgat Galimzyanov was called a
living legend, an eccentric, but often you could hear a "holy man".
Whatever he earned, he gave to the needy. He was known across Russia for his
generosity and charity, although Asgat Galimzyanov was a very humble man and
assisted without asking for anything in return. Asgat Galimzyanov is an example
to follow,"- said the Mayor, recalling that in the next five years a goal
to become the kindest city in Russia is a prior to the capital of Tatarstan.
The Mayor urged all deputies to dedicate the implementation of this priority in
2016.
Considering
the addressing of residents and the recommendations of the commission on
toponymy Kazan City Duma deputies decided to call a square at Millennium Square
at the location of the monument to a Philanthropist with name of Asgat
Galimzyanov. In the near future sign will be installed near the monument.
Honorary
Citizen of Kazan Asgat Galimzyanov known as one of the most active philanthropists
of the city. Working at the Kazan carter farm market, he raised cattle in his
shed and gave the proceeds to orphanages, this is more than 80 buses and cars. Asgat
Galimzyanov became the prototype for monument to a Philanthropist, which was
inaugurated under the walls of Kazan Kremlin, August 30th, 2008. The monument
was made on the initiative and at the expense of the family of the First
President of Tatarstan Mintimer Shaimiev.
