(Kazan City
KZN.RU, December 14). The reaction of Kazan residents to the felling of hazardous
trees near the Kazan Federal University shows that citizens are not indifferent
to what is happening in the capital of Tatarstan. It is necessary to make
adjustments to the existing rules of coordination of cutting down the trees to the
population was informed about the plans to cut down. This opinion was expressed
by the Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin on traditional stuff meeting in the city Executive
Committee.
The Mayor
began the business Monday with thanking indifferent Kazan residents who
promptly reacted to the felling of trees in the park near the KFU. "I want
to thank the caring citizens who came and toughly demanded to stop cutting.
This is a very revealing response: I am pleased that there is an active position
of the residents, they are not indifferent to what is happening in the city.
These 9 trees and 10 acres of land showed as far as Kazan and Kazan residents
are a whole", - said I. Metshin.
According
to the Mayor, before starting to cut down it was necessary to discuss the plans
with the residents of the city, and above all, with a team of university
teaching staff. "Not a single tree, even a hazardous one, can be cut down
without having to put the public aware of this and discussing plans. We need to
adjust the rules of work, especially in the historic center, but Azino, Yudino
and Quarters and other areas of the capital are equally important for people. It
is necessary to inform the public in advance about all the planned felling. It
is normal practice"- Ilsur Metshin noted.
Recall,
December 10 at the park near the KFU 33 trees were fallen. As administration of
the university explained, the trees were considered as emergency pieces and
could fall, causing damage to property and health of employees of the
university. This event caused a strong reaction of Kazan residents, who called
to stop the felling and landscaping the green space.
