I. Metshin: "Sustainable development becomes a key challenge for all cities"

Cities of the world, including the capital of Tatarstan, should strive to cooperate to jointly overcome the economic and other problems. This opinion was expressed today at the Business Monday by Mayor Ilsur Metshin.

The head of the capital of Tatarstan reminded that last weekend Kazan took part in the World Council of the organization "United Cities and Local Governments" and the Climate Summit in Paris. "Today’s weather says that the issue of climate change is ripe and it is necessary to solve in the entire world. Kazan is an active participant in major international events held among municipalities. In Paris I saw the faces of my colleagues, concerned about the challenges that they face today. Europe faces a number of serious problems - the influx of refugees, terrorism. Most of the leaders of the European countries and cities found themselves not prepared to such a situation", - said Ilsur Metshin, noting that there is peaceful mood in Moscow and Kazan after a visit to Paris.

According to the Mayor of Kazan, compared with the situation in other countries, there is a more favorable situation in Russia today. "Last week with the President of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov we participated in the Federal Address of Russian President Vladimir Putin. The voice of the leader of our country is not just heard in the international arena, he is one of the most respected people of the political world.
