In November it is planned to complete construction of the first stage of solid waste landfill "Eastern"

(Kazan City KZN.RU, November 10). By the end of November it is planned to complete the construction of the first stage of solid waste landfill "Eastern" on Mamadyshsky tract in Kazan. To date the readiness of the object is 90%. After completion of the construction work the licensing process will begin, and the landfill will be able to begin receiving waste from the city. Mayor Ilsur Metshin inspected the progress of construction of the facility today.

Head of the city was accompanied by the deputy head of the Executive Committee on Housing, Alexander Lobov, general director of "RT-Invest" Andrei Shipelov, representatives of the MUE "Technical Inspection Service» and «Enterprise of Housing and Communal Services" and others.

The Mayor visited the area, where currently construction works are completed. The total area of ​​landfill "Eastern" is about 40 hectares, the construction of the first phase is carried out on a plot of 24 hectares. "Today at the area waterproofing is laid, dumping of the ground is finished. Storage pond is fully ready. This week the necessary equipment will arrive to the city, to the end of November its installation will be made. The landfill site is completely fenced, a new road is paved. Currently the lighting of the area is under discussion. Overall readiness of the facility is 90% ", - Alexander Lobov reported on the progress.

After the completion of all construction work licensing of the landfill will begin. According to Alexander Lobov, Russian law allows to start delivering waste on a new landfill at the time of licensing. The Mayor instructed to organize work properly to complete construction of the facility at the designated time.

In parallel with the construction of the landfill "Eastern" working on reclamation of a nearby landfill Samosyrovsky is started, the preparation of project documentation for the construction of waste incineration plant also was launched. "Once we have announced our participation in the pilot project for the construction of waste incineration plant, residents are wondering how we have progressed in this regard. What are the prospects and timing of this project? "- asked the Mayor.

According to Andrei Shipelov, thanks to the implementation of the project in 2020 Kazan will provide zero landfill. "For the construction of the plant it is necessary to pick up the land, to prepare specifications. This work can be started in the first quarter of the next year, and at the same time the laying of the first stone for the foundation of waste incineration plant can be planned. Kazan will be the only pilot city in Russia that will be able to provide zero landfill by 2020, "- said general director of "RT-Invest ".  Ilsur Metshin noted that it is a good prospect.

With regard of Samosyryvsky landfill, since 2012 a set of measures to close the territory with its subsequent reclamation is held. The technological process, including the restoration of the national economic value and productivity of restored areas, will be completed in the next year and a half.
