I. Metshin: "Blooming city should become the norm of our lives"

(Kazan City KZN.RU, September 23, Adelia Galieva). Today at City Hall the most active participants of the competition "Blooming Kazan" and "Flower Festival" were awarded. The city Mayor Ilsur Metshin thanked residents of the capital of Tatarstan, heads of socially responsible companies, organizations and social facilities for contributing to the improvement of the city and pointed out that 7.5 million of planted seedlings are just the beginning for Kazan.

 The Mayor welcomed the participants of the flower actions and thanked them for their contribution to the improvement of the city. "A small part of the huge army of Kazan residents, representatives of companies, universities and businesses that have made Kazan more beautiful this year, are present now in the hall. This action has become a people action! We have seen balconies, courtyards, entrance groups of large and small offices, shops, hotels, universities, schools decorated with flowers. It created a unique image of blossoming Kazan. I hope this will become the norm of our lives! If the summer leaves us - let it remain in our hearts! "- the Mayor of the capital of Tatarstan wished.

Compared to the previous year, the number of planted flowers in the city grown by half and totaled 7.5 million, 11,000 vases and pots were put up, 71 thousand square meters of flower beds were decorated, which, incidentally, is comparable with the size of 10 football fields. The competition of the flower decoration launched online at flowers.kzn.ru helped to draw Kazan residents to participate. The competition was held in eight nominations: "The best design of the facade", "The best execution of the adjacent territory", "The best garden", "The most original flower arrangement", "The most beautiful flower bed", "The best vertical floral arrangement", "The best district" and finally, “The best photo shot".

Kazan residents chose the winners in each category. 300 compositions were put for the voting. More than 17,000 people voted for the best projects, the authors of which were invited into one of the most beautiful halls of the city to receive the well-deserved awards.

In addition, the participants of the "Flower Festival" were awarded in the City Hall - the project was held from 30 July to 15 September at the ground in front of the puppet theater "Ekiyat". This corner of the city turned into a real fairy-tale garden, where varieties of integrated projects of landscape design were presented. The festival was visited by about 200 thousand inhabitants and guests that could not only appreciate the creative ideas for improvement, but also to consult on planting flowers and caring for plants, take part in eco-educational projects.

Ilsur Metshin personally thanked each of the guests for the indifferent attitude to the image of the city. Active residents of the capital of Tatarstan, as well as managers of socially responsible companies, organizations and social facilities were encouraged by letters of thanks of Mayor of Kazan, prizes, certificates and flowering chrysanthemums in pots - in memory of the action were presented.

"We have grown to 7.5 million flowers - it is an unprecedented amount for us, but we are just at the beginning! Let's do everything to ensure that next year there were even more flowers! It is our task, our goal! "- said the head of the city in the end of his speech, referring to all citizens of Kazan, indifferent to their native home - the capital of Tatarstan.
