Ilsur Metshin: "Kazan joined the circle of leaders in the quality of life of the population"

(Kazan City KZN.RU, September 7, Zilya Gayfi). Kazan joined the circle of leaders in the quality of life of the population. Over the past five years, significant progress has been achieved in the field of urban policy and accomplishment, construction of social and transport infrastructure. This was stated today at the XLV session in the City Hall by Mayor Ilsur Metshin, summing up the work of the Kazan City Duma of the second convocation.

Speaking to deputies, Ilsur Metshin noted that the work of the second convocation of Kazan City Duma ends and it is time to take sum up five years of activity. "In the face of declining of economic performance in the country Kazan hasn’t slowed down the pace of development. Particular attention was paid to the implementation of socio-economic development of the city. Deputies at the meetings have repeatedly raised questions of increase of the average wage, housing, and creation of favorable conditions of life, development and support of entrepreneurs. The focus of deputies has always been at the formation of budget, which has the social orientation today - more than 60% of the funds are directed to the development of the social sphere ", - said the head of the city.

According to the Mayor of Kazan, much of what was promised – is done. Thus, notable progress has been made in the field of urban policy and accomplishment, construction of social and transport infrastructure. People themselves are primarily interested in the improvement of urban living conditions. "With adoption of common rules of accomplishment deputies managed to liberate the city from unnecessary advertising, make it clean and well maintained. Projects "Green Record" and "Blossoming Kazan" allowed the city to blossom in the literal sense. With the support of the President of Tararstan and the active participation of the deputies, residents and businesses parks are improving, thousands of trees and millions of flowers appear "- said the Mayor.

Special attention in the implementation of socio-economic development of the city was traditionally paid to the social sphere. Among the priorities of the last five years was the construction and repair of schools and kindergartens, sports fields. "Today, the repair of houses in Kazan is made in one-third of the housing stock. 78% of schools were repaired. Within the framework of the national program "Belekech" and federal "Road Map" 83 kindergartens with nearly 16.5 thousand places was put into operation and reconstructed. Thus, the sequence in kindergartens for children older than three years is eliminated. In addition, program "Five years of health", adopted in 2010, is fully implemented, "- the Mayor cited figures.

According Ilsur Metshin, the past five years left a bright trace in the history of Kazan, real acting organs of the municipality were created. "Kazan joined the circle of leaders in the quality of life of the population in the country. This is the overall merit of deputies, residents, businesses and public organizations. On behalf of the deputies we say words of thanks to the President of the Republic of Tatatrstan, colleagues from the Government of Tatarstan and the State Council of the Republic of Tatarstan. However, residents are waiting of reaching of new heights from us. Future convening of Kazan City Duma will have to make serious efforts. We need to know how exactly the citizens want to see our city. In a single team with the residents we will make Kazan the best city to live in Russia ", - the Mayor concluded.

At the end of the XLV session Ilsur Metshin presented deputies city and national awards.
