I. Metshin: "We must do everything to achieve the best results of USE"

(Kazan City KZN.RU, August 27, Adelia Galieva). Kazan is a city of university tradition, in which the plants are located, requiring highly skilled experts with knowledge of the subject. Therefore, it is important to the city to achieve good results of graduates in the exam in mathematics, computer science, biology, chemistry during the school year. This task was set today by the Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin at the plenary session of the August annual conference of the city educators.

The results of the final examinations of this year were announced by the head of the Department of Education Ilsur Hadiullin. According to him, the indicators of the graduates’ exam in Kazan are higher than republican in all subjects except social studies. Compared with other Russian million cities Kazan is second after Ekaterinburg on this indicator. However, in Kazan USE results compared with last year are lower in following six subjects: mathematics (-0.3), computer science (-2.4), biology (-3.7), chemicals (-1.1), social studies (-1,1), French (-4.2).

"We are well tightened on the Russian language, among the neighbors we are behind only Ekaterinburg. But here it is desirable to be the first. Serious concerns rise about poor results in mathematics, computer science, biology, chemistry, social studies, "- the Mayor of Kazan commented.

According to the head of the city, such results cannot be justified. "No excuses are accepted! Kazan is a city of university tradition, a city with a strong physical-mathematical school, the oldest Faculty of Biology of the University of Kazan. The city of aircraft and helicopter, the city of chemistry and petro chemistry. And our plants need as air specialists today and there is nothing to do without knowledge of basic fundamental things! "- said I. Metshin.

The Mayor instructed to look into the causes of the problem, to study the best educational practices in the country and abroad, and to report the results in the near future. "We must do everything to ensure that at the next conference at the end of the school year we have had the best results in these subjects," - instructed Ilsur Metshin.
