(Kazan City
KZN.RU, July 30, Adelia Galieva). Today in Kazan the "Flower
Festival" launched for the first time. Area in front of the puppet theater
"Ekiyat" turned into a fabulous garden, which presents a variety of
complex projects of landscape design. One of the first the Mayor of Kazan Ilsur
Metshin assessed the creative ideas for improvement and promised to make the
festival an annual event.
The festival
is the next step in the implementation of the policy on the landscaping of the
capital of Tatarstan. The festival takes place in the framework of the action "Blooming
Kazan" initiated by the Mayor of Kazan, thanks to which the city becomes
more and more like a blooming garden in the summer time every year. The
objectives of the festival are not just environmental education of citizens and
raise of respect for the elements of improvement, but also the search for new
ideas for greening of urban areas.
Ilsur
Metshin was one of the first to appreciate the compositions presented at the
festival, he learned about the latest trends in gardening and landscaping; saw
the catalog of perennials that can be planted in the urban environment, and
talked with the representatives of the participating companies and authors.
Mayor of
Kazan said that every year the capital of Tatarstan is becoming more
progressive in the field of implementation of projects for landscaping. "Before
the best about greening for us were fir-trees along the Kremlin wall, then
we have heard about the English lawn, now we can see that new ideas are
implemented on the facades of houses, offices, yards, landscaped by active
management companies, the level is increasing " - said I. Metshin.
"For
me it is important that the festival is also an educational project - not only
for citizens but also for us. Often our park is wood and iron benches and standard
landscaping. We must move away from the standard! We need interesting solutions
that will decorate the city. The festival will give us new ideas that we can put
into practice soon, "- I. Metshin outlined the key objectives of the
festival.
The Mayor visited
flower pavilions where participants were able to implement a variety of ideas. In
total, the festival presents 16 projects implemented not only by landscaping organizations
and enterprises, but also by the network shopping centers, nursery gardens, and
hotel business. Among the members are companies from Moscow, regions of
Tatarstan and local companies. At the end of the festival the best projects will
be selected, and the authors will receive cash prizes.
"I
liked the heterogeneity that companies represent: different tastes, different
styles, different designs, although in the same territory. This is very good:
the more proposals and ideas we will have, the higher will be the flight of
thought and the more colorful palette will be in the field of improvement of
Kazan. We hope that the number of participants will grow each year, "- the
Mayor approved the diversity of ideas.
At the
festival, the Mayor talked with the residents, as well as with representatives
of children's organizations, and took part in actions aimed at environmental
education. In a separate area, where experts teach children how to plant
flowers and take care of them, the head of the city with his young assistants
Camilla and Ivan planted several flowers on children's alley. I. Metshin
thanked the organizers of the master class and parents who teach children how
to treat nature.
It is
important that at the festival Kazan residents can enjoy the beautiful flower
arrangements, and also to consult on planting flowers and caring for plants, to
take part in eco-educational projects. In addition, a temporary open-air cafe,
playground and outlets are opened here. The festival can be visited until
mid-September, than all used elements of accomplishment will be dismantled,
green areas will be replanted in the streets, in parks and the children's
institutions, including orphanages. However, the site won’t stay empty - in the
winter there the ice town will be installed traditionally.
Every year Kazan
becomes more and more flourishing city through initiatives such as the campaigns
"Blooming Kazan", "Green Record". If before the Universiade
about 3 million flowers appeared in the city streets, this summer 6.1 million flowers
are pleasing Kazan residents. To date the task is to make every corner of the
city attractive. "Let the ideas of the festival will propagate across
the city - not only in the central streets of Kazan, but in every yard, in
kindergartens, schools, offices," - the Mayor concluded.
