Kazan citizens traveled together with Mayor
(KZN.RU, February 16, Renat Shirmanov). Long desired Rusich train of Kazan metro gave first passengers a drive.
“The new train is truly long desired. After Prospekt Pobedy and Kozya Sloboda stations opening we didn’t buy trains because of lack of funds. And of course Kazan citizens dissatisfied with it. Thanks to support of President of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov three new trains will appear in the nearest future”, Ilsur Metshin, Mayor of Kazan commented.
The new train began its route from Prospekt Pobedy metro station. Mayor of Kazan was among first passengers. He looked over the train, driver’s cabin, verified wagons’ convenience. During the trip he communicated with passengers who also liked the train. Mayor told about further plans of metro developing in RT. “Now we have more two trains in turn and three stations construction – Dekabristov, Zavodskaya, and Moskovskaya. Two trains will come in March so there won’t be rush hours. Gradually we are upgrading the service quality and continuing to develop transport infrastructure prior to the Universiade-2011”, Ilsur Metshin noted.
Many passengers were surprised to see the Mayor but he told he was a frequent visitor of metro. “We come down to the metro several times a month. We need to solve a lot of issues so that people can see a worthy result”, Ilsur Metshin summed up the trip.
