Ilsur Metshin, "Jeans is freedom for me"

(KZN.RU, February 19, Olga Gertseva). Tomorrow a unique exposition – ‘Jeans as a Cult’ will be open to public in the exhibition hall on Karl Marks Street. And today Ilsur Metshin, Mayor of Kazan, journalists, musicians have already visited it. An ex-guitarist for the Time Machine band, and now a journalist and a writer Maxim Kapitanovsky came to its opening intentionally.

The exposition opening is a unique event; Kazan became the first where it sprang to life, considerably thanks to the support of the city administration. And as Maxim Kapitanovsky said, once again Kazan was in advance of Moscow.

Ilsur Metshin also confessed that not only before but now jeans for him was a symbol of freedom. “I wear jeans often, 5-6 times a week. Disclose a secret that I go on and go back work not in a suit. And during these 20 minutes I am at my ease. Only when I get off a tie and put on jeans I have a sense that a working day finished”, the Mayor told, “today I came in jeans non specially but because the working day has already finished”.

Maxim Kapitanovsky asked the Mayor whether they can hope for the fulfillment of Rustem Valiahmetov and himself dream to open a museum of socialistic way of life. The Mayor replied that they were choosing a building for it. “I’d like such a museum to be appeared in Kazan, especially on the eve of the Universiade and the World Cup. We have a great desire to realize it and I, as Mayor, lend assistance in it”.
