Flood consequences in Kazan depend on preparations
(KZN.RU, February 14, Taisiya Basharkina). Snow winter needs special anti-flooding measures. “We have to be ready for flood in order that snow melting would be with little consequences”, Ilsur Metshin has stated today at the Business Monday.
This week an ordinance on anti-flooding measures has been made. “Backing of these measures and execution of the ordinance must be priority-oriented”, the Maor noted.
Long-term observations defined main flooded parts of Kazan. As Igor Kulyazhev, the Head of External Improvements Committee informed the under-flooding square is 12 square kilometers, that is 995 houses, where 3340 people live, get into an under-flooding zone.
According to Igor Kulyazhev the External Improvements Committee allocated 8.7 million rubles for anti-flooding measures.
“There is no doubt about flood in Kazan”, the Mayor underlined, “what form it will take depends on preparations, that’s why we are preparing within a month and a half. All the equipment should be operational. Moreover it is necessary to organize day-and-night duty”.
