Mass Sport in Kazan will appear on the new level, Ilsur Metshin convinced

(KZN.RU, February 1, Renat Shirmanov). In recent years Kazan has been actively fighting for the sports capital of Russia status. However the city can correspond fully to this high status after appearing of the mass sport on the new level. This has been announced today by Ilsur Metshin, the Mayor of Kazan on the board devoted to summarizing the results of the Youth, Sports and Tourism Ministry of the Republic of Tatarstan in 2010.

Recall that Vitaliy Mutko, Minister of Sport, Tourism and Youth Policy of RF, Rustam Minnikhanov, President of the Republic of Tatarstan, Rafis Burganov, Minister of Youth Affairs, Sports and Tourism of the Republic of Tatarstan took part on the board.

One of the main directions of mass sport development in Kazan is the implementation of the Community-Based Gymnastics and Sports Development program.  

"All this has a great importance, given the fact that in Kazan there is a real "baby boom". Last year 16,233 babies were born - this is the maximum index over the past few years. In this case we try to solve problems of young families in all spheres, including housing", Ilsur Metshin claimed.

Also the Mayor said that under the Five Years of Health development it was planned to build 20 kindergartens during the program. "However thanks to the decision of Rustam Minnikhanov, President of RT we have reviewed the plans and intended to put into operation 23 kindergarten for one year. Thus we have fully solved the issue of providing places in kindergarten for over three years children. Soon there will be more children in our city, so we need to implant them the right psychology and life incentives. Our objective is to divert children from alcohol and drug abuse into sport", Mayor of Kazan underlined.

Parents should show an example for their children. Therefore it was decided to revive the tradition of holding a city-wide Olympics. More than 150 thousand residents will take part in the I Kazan Olympics. "This is an opportunity to visit for free our new gyms. Thanks to the decision of President of the Republic of Tatarstan about sports facilities of the Universiade-2013 which should bear the social burden; 25 thousand students, 8 thousand students of sports schools, and thousands of secondary schools conduct there physical education classes. Any resident can visit for free Kazan Universiade facilities during weekends. This opportunity is successfully used by 33 thousand citizens of Kazan. If we add the number of sold tickets to these figures, so the number of residents attending the Universiade sports facilities will be more than 100 thousand people. But the sporting potential of Kazan is just beginning to unfold", the Mayor said.
