Results of
the competition of scientific, research and practical works for the receipt of
the Mayor's scholarships among schoolchildren, students, and graduate students
were summed up in Kazan. Ilsur Metshin, the head of the city, awarded the
winners in the City Hall today.
This year,
more than 160 works were submitted for the competition, 68 of which passed to
the intramural stage. At the second stage, the finalists presented their
scientific work to the expert commission, whose decision was to award a nominal
scholarship to 27 students and 13 graduate students of higher and professional
educational institutions of the city this year. Students of the KSAU, the KFU,
the PSAPST, the KNITU, the TISBI, the KCI RUC, the KIU (IEML), the KPEU, the
KSUAE, the KLI MIA, the KSMU, the KNITU-KAI, the IOPC, and other universities
and colleges of Kazan are among them.

schoolchildren who study at children's music and art schools have also become scholars.
Ilsur
Metshin noted that he is pleased to see so many young people again in the Kazan
City Hall who gives confidence in the future of the Tatarstan’s capital and the
whole republic by their achievements. “Noting your work, we strive to support
you and show that your work brings significant benefits already now and is a
guide for all young people. You can say the same about scientific talents. Our
future is directly connected to the extent, to which we will be able to
introduce scientific and technological achievements in the ordinary daily life,
in the development of industry, the environment, and the economy. Therefore, I
want to thank you for the work and for the results that you have been
achieved”, said the Mayor.
The Mayor
of Kazan particularly emphasized the practical benefits of developments, based
on the work of scholars. “We already have a very successful experience in
implementation of such ideas. For example, the joint work of Azamat Minibaev
with the scientific team of the energy university formed the basis for
improving the functioning of Kazan CGP-3. Such examples confirm that the
development of young Kazan residents is not only viable but also significantly
affect the standard of living in our city”, marked I. Metshin.
In
conclusion, he thanked all the mentors and parents of the scholars.
Since 1994,
the annual competition is held to attract students to research in the field of
urban economy, social sphere, and youth policy of Kazan.
This year,
the scholarships was: for graduate students – 30 thousand rubles, for students
of universities and specialists of youth public associations – 20 thousand
rubles, for students of PEI – 10 thousand rubles, for schoolchildren who study
in children's music and art schools – 10 thousand rubles.
