The Kazan
rock school “The Road” celebrated a housewarming party. Ilsur Metshin, the
Mayor of the Tatarstan’s capital, congratulated the school on the move to a new
house on street Moskovskaya, 57a, where everything was thought through for the
convenience of beginning musicians, young Kazan rockers. The head of the city
sang for the children together with the musicians of the band “Voskresenie” in
honor of the opening of the school.
At the
opening of the new house of the rock school “The Road”, Ilsur Metshin noted
that now it's time to conquer new musical Olympics, for all the conditions for
beginner rockers are created. “We need to make Kazan not only the sports and
educational capital but the capital of rock. So it is necessary that the
children play so talented that no one has any doubts that Kazan is the capital!
Dare, young ones! At one time, many great rock musicians were here. Kazan
occupied a special place on the geographical map of rock. We hope that you will
express your musical word very soon in such conditions!” the Mayor addressed
the pupils of the school.
The head of
the city, together with Airat Yarullin, the director of the school “The Road”,
examined the renovated classrooms: classes of guitar, bass guitar, and drums.
The Mayor also talked to future rock stars and asked what creativity of
contemporary musicians they are fond of. Musicians of the band “Voskresenie”
that came to congratulate Kazan on the opening of the first rock school in
Russia appreciated the new building together with Ilsur Metshin. “Great is not
covering it! Beautiful classes! Everything is thought through! If we have had
such a school in our time, we would have already performed at Carnegie Hall!”,
Andrei Sapunov, the vocalist and guitarist, was delighted about the new
building of the rock school.
After
inspecting the premises, I. Metshin, together with the musicians, the school
director, and one of the students, cut the symbolic ribbon, opening the stage
for performances. Marusya Sharonova, a pupil of “The Road”, appeared on the new
stage the first, and her dad Roman Sharonov, a famous footballer, came to
support her. Drummer Alexei Korobkov and bass player Dmitry Leontiev
accompanied Marusya.
Then the
Mayor of Kazan came on the stage. Ilsur Metshin together with Andrei Sapunov
sang the song “Listopad” for the children. After this little improvisation, the
head of the city congratulated the children with the opening of the school and
thanked the band “Voskresenie” for their arrival, as well as the builders who
worked hard to create the ideal house for young musicians.
“Our future
rockers, I wish you to learn, play, sing, and be friends in these walls! As
they say, the song helps us live and build. Let the songs of great musicians
help you become worthy people. Pleasure us with your art, invite us to visit!
The next concert is your!”, said the Mayor of Kazan.
In honor of
the fifth anniversary, which the rock school celebrates this year, the
municipality has allocated the institution its own premises in the center of
the city: a two-story annex to the building on street Moskovskaya, 57a.
Particular attention is paid to the soundproofing system in the renovated
building. Soundproof panels on the walls, floor, and ceiling are installed in
each classroom, as well as special doors and windows. All this is necessary to
ensure that young rockers can sing and play musical instruments in comfortable
conditions, without distracting each other. The new building is the only site
in Russia, originally designed to accommodate the rock school.
60-70
children from the age of 7 can study at a rock school. At least 10 children's
and teenage rock groups will be based in the building, curators of which will
be 10 teachers in different specialties.
Kazan
became the first city in Russia, where the rock school appeared. The creation
of the Kazan school was supported by such mastodons of the domestic rock scene
as Boris Grebenshchikov, Vadim Samoilov, and Andrei Sapunov. Musicians of the
bands “Voskresenie”, “Chizh and Co”, “Lyapis Trubetskoi”, and “Tantra”
conducted master classes for students.
