I. Metshin about the overhaul of children's summer camps

For a long time now, there are cottages and private recreation centers on the site of the former pioneer camps in the neighboring cities and other regions. It is good that we did not lose the infrastructure, and it remained to serve the children.

In my childhood and adolescence, I went to summer camps, together with the city’s national hockey team up to grade 9. These are the best memories, the warmest and dearest. I owe a lot to the pioneer summer. And I want to do everything possible so that as many children and parents have such beautiful memories. It is something well forgotten that we must return to our lives.

The program of renewal of children's summer camps, which we started with the support of Rustam Minnikhanov, the President of the RT, has become especially welcome for Kazan.

In 2019, almost half a billion rubles were allocated for the repair of 4 camps and plus 60 million rubles for access roads. The program is designed for 3-4 years. During this time, it is planned to update all 14 municipal camps of Kazan. They were built in the 1930-60s, served more than half a century.

As a result, we will not just bring the camps to the proper state, but will make them worthy of our children and youth. It is essential that this will be a systemic solution. As a result, not only the state of summer camps will improve, but their throughput will also increase. It means that more children will be able to rest in right conditions.
