I.Metshin on parental control of school meals

Parental control is very important, because the teachers, the parents and we have the same goals and objectives: so that children receive hot meals for lunch. Doctors say it affects the health, so we pay systematic attention to this.

If in 2005 in Kazan the coverage of hot meals was 37% of schoolchildren, there were not enough cooks, 80% of the kitchen equipment was worn out – in half of the schools we could not provide hot meals, today the coverage of hot meals has reached more than 85% of school students, work has been done to renovate and equip canteens. Not only has the premises been renovated, but new equipment, dishes, furniture have also been purchased. And we will definitely continue this work.

We are doing everything to ensure that meals at our schools are the best compared to other cities of the country, and parents help us in this – from the point of view of not only monitoring the work of canteens, but also improving the quality of meals. They talk about us even at the Russian level, but it is important for us to be not the first, but the best. Children can dress differently, but they should eat equally well.

Meetings with parents and school representatives will become regular and this is the only way to achieve results. Feedback is important to us, otherwise we will not receive proper result, we will definitely continue this work and make the food of schoolchildren in Kazan healthy, but at the same time delicious.
