(Kazan, KZN.RU, February 25, by Zilya Gayfi). The best portraits of Vladimir Vysotsky by cult photographer Valery Plotnikov, whose artistic heritage includes hundreds of pictures of theatrical and cinematic elite, were brought to Kazan. Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin, actor Sergei Bezrukov, who is touring Kazan together with the Moscow Provincial Theater, as well as representatives of the Executive Committee and the creative elite of the city attended the exhibition opening ceremony at the capital's City Hall today.
The photo exhibition "Vladimir Vysotsky, Marina, Friends" presents a collection of unique 1967-1980s photographs of the famous performances of "Hamlet" and "Antiworlds," footage from the films starring Vladimir Vysotsky, as well as photos, where the musician and actor is captured among friends and with Marina Vlady.
According to Ilsur Metshin, a bright page in the history of our country is associated with Vladimir Vysotsky, and Valery Plotnikov's show gives visitors a glimpse of the legendary Soviet era. "Each of us knows this outstanding actor's poems, songs and wonderful roles. Photography is an amazing art that captures moments that are not visible to the naked eye. Valery Plotnikov is a lucky man; he knew Vysotsky personally and captured moments of his life," said the mayor.
Sergei Bezrukov, who played Vysotsky and performs his songs, believes that the exhibition presents his best portraits. "This is an exhibition by an amazing artist, a chronicler of our Russian culture. Here are stunning, unique photographs, portraits of great masters of art – film directors, artists, musicians – representing our culture. Thank you, Valery, for these outstanding photos, which portray emotions and life itself," said the actor, who, incidentally, supports the idea of creating Vysotsky's museum in Kazan.
