The construction
of the observation deck will be completed by August 30. The readiness of the site
is 80%.
“We continue beautification of Kazan. This year, five sites are being
improved: in some places, we are creating spaces from scratch, like the Yardem square
on Serova Street, while in Gorky Park, we are continuing to develop and carry
out targeted improvements. I want to thank our pro-active citizens who
suggested the idea to create a beautiful observation deck here. This new route
will connect Gorky Park with the URAM extreme park and the Kazanka River
embankment. We plan to complete the improvement work by the City Day,” – Ilsur
Metshin noted.
The observation
deck in Gorky Park faces Vishnevskogo Street and offers a view of the Novo‑Savinovsky
city district. Its total area is 154 square meters, but the design provides for
the installation of 46 piles, as the deck extends beyond the edge of the slope
to achieve the best effect.
The
54‑metre‑long deck railing was made of multi‑layered glass with a polished
edge. A similar solution has already been used in the improvement of other
public spaces.
Special
attention was paid to the illumination of the deck at the nighttime. Seven tall
lanterns and fourteen lamps will create additional coziness.
The observation
deck will become part of a new pedestrian route from the main alley to the
deck, and from there, to the Kazanka Embankment and Uram Park.
The main construction work has already been completed. About 1,100
square meters of covering have been laid on the site, and the metal structure
of the observation deck has been installed. Twenty benches, lightning and video
cameras will be installed on the site. The landscaping is being carried out under
the national project “Infrastructure for Life”.
