On August 20, Kazan will attract fans of popular music: the «New Wave» international
contest of young pop singers will kick off in the capital of Tatarstan. Twelve singers
from five countries – Russia, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, and
China – will compete for victory. Kazan Mayor Ilsur Metshin shared
about the preparations for the upcoming event.
The Mayor emphasized that holding such a major event will have a great
image effect for the city.
«For almost a week, the capital of Tatarstan will once again be in the
spotlight of federal cameras. We feel a great responsibility to host the New
Wave contest. We have come a long way to make this dream come true. I want to
thank everyone who entrusted Kazan with hosting this competition. Special
thanks to the team of Maestro Igor Krutoy, with whom we share many years of
experience in successfully implementing projects of international level», –
Ilsur Metshin said.
The Mayor emphasized that such festivals make a significant contribution to
the economy of Kazan, helping to increase the image as a popular tourist
destination. «This is a major promotional effort throughout the year. We strive
to increase the tourist flow, and such major events play a key role in this», –
he noted.
This year, special attention is focused on Ignat Izotov, the participant
from Tatarstan . «It is equally important that the festival motivates our youth
to engage in music and develop their talents. We remember Ignat well: he
started singing in Staroe Koshchakovo and participated in numerous children’s
and youth festivals. The talented boy grew up and became a father. This is an
example of how such platforms provide opportunities for people from simple
families to realize their potential», – the Mayor said.
