The "Starry Cycle Night" held in Kazan on the night of May 31 to June 1, was organized within the project «Velonotte International».
Chairman of the Committee for External Relations and Tourism Evgenia Lodvigova said that according to the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation, more than 2,700 people participated in the event.
Having started from the walls of the Kazan Kremlin, the cycle night participants covered more than 20 km and finished near the "Kazan" family center. Along the way, the cyclists stopped near the Mother of God Monastery, "Kazan" culture center, Aksenov house, Bekhterev clinic, Arbuzov house museum, Kazan Federal University and Zilantov Monastery.
During stops, the cycle night participants listened to lectures about the historical sights. One of these lectures at the finish point – near the "Kazan" family center – was given by the Mayor of the capital of Tatarstan Ilsur Metshin.
"Everything went smoothly and the night ended with launching air balloons. The ride went off without a hitch. The participants showed great interest in both the ride and the lectures. They communicated and helped if someone's bicycle broke down. We are glad that at least for one night real communication replaced virtual one," concluded Evgenia Lodvigova.
