(Kazan, KZN.RU, May 24, by Adel Galiyev) The symbolic last bell rang in the square in front of Kazan Arena for the 2014 school graduates of Tatarstan's capital. The citywide celebration was attended by Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin, university rectors, school principals and teachers and, of course, the graduates themselves – more than 5.6 thousand from the entire city.
"This is a wonderful day – solemn, sad and very important. Eleven years of friendly school life are behind you; a great way lies ahead," the mayor of Kazan addressed the graduates. "May your path be luminous, and may success, good luck and help of the Most High always accompany you." The mayor promised that he, in his turn, would do everything for Kazan to remain a happy family home for the alumni. The mayor gave special thanks to the parents and teachers, noting that they put their heart and soul in every child.
A pleasant surprise was the video greetings from Placido Domingo and Aida Garifullina, recorded yesterday after their triumphant performance. The famous tenor wished that all the graduates' dreams come true, and greeted them in Russian: "Privet (Hi), Kazan!", which really brought the house down.
