The Yardam Inclusion Center for people with disabilities opened in Kazan today. The three-storey building with an area of 3,800 square meters is designed for about 230 visitors per day. It provides a wide range of free services to people with visual impairments and musculoskeletal system diseases. The Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov, the Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin and the imam khatib of the Yardam mosque Ildar Bayazitov took part in the opening ceremony.
In his speech, the Rais of Tatarstan noted the special relevance of the center for people in need of assistance. The idea to create such a center belongs to Ilsur Metshin. The Rais of Tatarstan expressed gratitude to the specialists from Tatarstan, as well as from Moscow and Turkey.
Tatarstan implements a lot of work under the republican and federal programs. Nearby the inclusive center, a boulevard has been landscaped, and the facades of 14 residential buildings are being renovated.
Rustam Minnikhanov looked round the conditions created in the inclusive center. A swimming pool with four 25- meters-long lanes has a variable diving depth from 1.2 to 1.8 meters and is equipped with special lifts for wheelchairs. About 20 people can train here at the same time. The center also provides hydro and air bubble massage, as well as underwater massage showers, Charcot showers and color therapy.
On the second and third floors, there are massage rooms, art therapy, ergo therapy, physical therapy halls, a gym and an online training area. There is also a cinema room and a cafe with a menu adapted for people with visual impairments.
The center was built under the municipal program “The Good Kazan”, aimed at creating accessible environment for people with disabilities. Construction began in 2024 and was carried out on private donations.
A fountain with a crescent-shaped sculpture Moon Garden was installed at the entrance in the center. The 3.5-meter-high art object is decorated with Tatar elements and echoes the architecture of the building.
This year, the improvement of Yardam Boulevard with an area of 3.9 hectares was completed next to the complex. This is the only in Russia facility, fully adapted to the needs of people with disabilities.
The SIBUR Company supported the rehabilitation of the lake nearby. About 1,300 plants were planted for natural water purification. In addition, 170 trees and 1,200 saplings were planted on the boulevard.
An artificial island with a spherical willow has become the central element of the lake. A wooden deck with a length of about 200 meters with viewing platforms was laid along the shore.
The project was implemented as part of the national project “Infrastructure for Life”.
